Earnhardt, Jr.

no that is where you are completely wrong....What is wrong with NASCAR starts at the top with Brian France and Mike Helton, the reason you are saying that it is JR's fault is....

A. You do not like him

B. He came in right before Brian France and Mike Helton took over the reigns from Bill France Jr, so yeah I can see where you would be confused

Totally agree with you on Brian. Why Helton, though?

ehh I just threw him under the bus, because no one ever really knew if the first changes that were made in the 2001-2003 were his or Brian France working behind the scenes......Even though Brian France did not take over until 2003 he still had a lot of say and it seemed like he went through Helton since he had the authority before 2003.

Anyone see Junior "magically" make the other drivers look like they had their brakes on during that last lap? How does he do that? (nudge nudge wink wink)

He can't even win when NASCAR sets it up for him.

And that could very well be the truth. I think as a driver he sucks. He ain't nuthin like the rest of us. He's a jerk.

are you kidding, you have never heard of Bobby Issac ???

Guy was pretty good back in the day. He held the speed record at talladega until Bill Elliot broke it , he also holds the nascar recororgor number of poles in a season and maybe even still holds the record for most poles ever..

The guy also set landspeed records in thr saltflats..

I still like the fact davey Allison is on the list , I think he could have been one of the best of his era if not even all time had he not died .

Bobby Issac is a bit of a legend.

The thing is, Junior IS good. In fact, he's very good. But he's running at the same time as Gordon, Johnson, Kurt and Kyle Busch, Mark Martin, ect, not to mention being in the shadow of a colossus so his highlights usually go unnoticed. Kind of like Matt Kenseth, who in his own rite is quietly amazing.

He is a two-time Busch champion too, some will say the series is a joke, but that's worth something.

I have heard of all of em to be honest. It was the bigger point i was trying to make that there's some names on there that most (not u and me) haven't ever heard of.

Sadly, i think the majority of Nascars fans have joined the ranks in the last ten to fifteen years. Theyw ould have no idea who half of the guys on that list are. That's what i was trying to say. :willy_nilly: :D

My dad, and several other knowledgeable 1980s NASCAR fans, swear that if Tim Richmond hadn't have gotten AIDS he would have at least matched Earnhardt stride for stride, and maybe even topped him.
