Manning > Brees > Brady??

Arguing on another board with some idiot who thinks that Brees is better than Manning simply because of last super bowl and some other asinine crap.

"Nurtured by Manning????? C'mon, next you are going to tell me he breast fed him too?

Brady had Troy Brown as THE main receiver for his SB wins, TROY BROWN, not much of a receiver.

Manning is not the offensive coordinator, he manages the plays that are fed to him well.

Brady is still better than Manning... Manning choked big time and was upstaged by another player better than him, Brees."

"Brady choked as many times as Manning, yet has 2 more SB rings...

Brady > Brees > P. Manning "

"Well I guess his recievers got him 3 SB rings... besides, Collie, Garcon, Clark and Wayne have been kicking ass so that can't be used as an excuse, Brady is better."

That one was saying Brady > Manning.

I'm right, right? Sorry if this is a re-hash or wrong section, feel free to move it or delete it if I messed up. Would just like some input. :(

I think Manning is the best because he is basically the OC of his team and he knows every intricate and minute thing to play the position. It's like any defense he's up against, he can morph and engineer his offense to beat it. The only flaw I can find in Manning is that he sometimes over thinks.

Brady is hard to judge imo. He's a great QB but the system he's in may greatly contributes to his success.

Give me Brady. His 3 rings and 14-4 playoff record speaks for itself.

This.

I want a QB who can win a SB, not a QB who puts up stellar REGULAR SEASON stats then flops in the playoffs.

Manning is a BELOW AVERAGE post season quarterback, and has been his entire career. Peyton threw 3 TD's/7 interceptions in 2006 playoffs when he won the SB. He's always choked when it mattered most(see: pick 6 when he could have tied the game vs. the Saints). Peyton gets all this hype because he puts up regular season stats and wins undeserved MVP's because he's the NFL's pet.

Manning has had a completely stacked offense for his entire career, and an underrated defense, so don't even try and use that excuse. Wish people would get off his nuts already and realize that he's just a regular season super star, and a post season dud. He's a genius on the field, and still has time to redeem himself with a couple more SB wins, but he really needs to get his poo together and stop choking.

I'd take Manning over anyone who has ever played the game with Marino being my # 2 choice.

If Manning went down game 1, like Brady did, in any of the most recent seasons, the Colts fall from 12+ wins to 3 if they are lucky.

In essence they should rename the MVP award in his honor because no single player has ever been as valuable to a franchise as he has to Indy. Without drafting him, it is the LA Colts at this point and they wouldn't have the "House that Manning built", even if they were still struggling in Indy.

Couple of points... Manning has outperformed Brady statistically in the playoffs, but somehow one is considered clutch and one you just called below average.

I've also read where the 2006 Colts Playoff offense was the most efficient offense in the playoffs(scoring drives/Drives) than any other offense dating to the late 90's when the information was available.

You mention the pick 6. I put that on a lackluster effort by Reggie Wayne and a great read by the DB,more so than a poor throw. If Wayne would have ran the route right, it's incomplete at the very least.

Belichick is the main reason of New England's success and Indy's D has had some horrible games in the playoffs. Manning has had some bad ones too, but what quarterback hasn't?

Manning and Brady have both had absolute studs at WR too, Harrison, Wayne, and Moss, Welker. Brees has never had a pro bowl WR. Stats don't tell the whole story by a longshot, but Brees was statistically better than both this year.

That right there is my main problem with Manning. Nothing is ever his fault, he throws a pick 6 and it's the receivers fault? If you look at that play, he never took his eyes off of Wayne, any DB would read that and pick it off EASILY. At some point, people need to realize Manning has had a stellar team for almost his entire career and only has 1 ring, whereas Brady was throwing to no-name receivers and still won 3 SB's.

and while Belichick is a genius, he isn't the one out there engineering 2 minute drills in the final minutes of the 4th quarter to win the game, Brady is. I can't stand Brady, but he is the 2nd best QB of all time next to Joe Montana when it comes to the post-season, and Manning isn't even top 10 in that category.

    • So we cut him if we don't give him the option?  I'm pretty sure there are players who didn't get the 5th-year option that played year four of their rookie contracts with their draft team.
    • I didn't say do nothing if we don't draft one in the 1st and I"m not counting on a FA to magically become a franchise QB. But signing a FA to be our starter for the year and then re-address the next offseason would be FAR better than reaching on the wrong QB in the 1st this offseason. Feeling we HAVE to find our long term solution just because we need a new QB is how we got into this mess.  We thought Two Gloves would be at worst an average level QB for a few years, that didn't happen, so we went out and traded for Darnold.  That didn't work so we went out and traded for Baker, that didn't work so we went out and traded up to get Bryce. Our last 4 QB moves were all trying to force a solution, none of them worked out, and we're still trying to find Cam's replacement all these years later.  We'd just have been better off spending a year or two building up the rest of the team and going year to year on FA QB's while doing so.  I get it, it will be frustrating to deal with, but then when you find that actual long term solution, they plug right into an already built out roster and you're ready to contend immediately.
    • Great win, should be 3-0 but I'll take 2-1. LaMelo is an MVP caliber player, period.   This is looking like an incredible draft so far. Sion James looking like the exact type of role player that all contending teams need to have, absolute steal in the 2nd. Kalk is a work in progress and I question how much upside he has but he's already been a considerable upgrade at C for us compared to the last several years (outside of healthy Mark which of course was rare).   Really seems like new ownership/front office has change the culture here significantly. Every guy looks bought in now.
