Brian Westbrook hangs up on SportsCenter live

Was watching Sportscenter and they talked about the Westbrook release, and then said Westbrook was joining them on the show to discuss the situation.

Scott Van Pelt (my favorite anchor) started the interview with the supposed Westbrook on the line, and asked if it felt personal.

The guy started talking about how he loved the city of Philadelphia, and when I heard his voice I knew immediately it wasn't B.W. Sounded like some cornball computer nerd... He talked for a few seconds and ended with something like "I'm looking forward to worshiping at the prostate of Howard Stern."

Or something like that... SVP immediately said something like "that's where we're going huh?"

The fake BW started talking again and was cut off immediately. SVP laughed and there was an awkward silence there for a minute. It was hilarious. Who the f**k screens their calls b/c they need to be fired. I hate that it happened to SVP b/c I think other than Stuart Scott he's the most legit at his job there.

Man, I hope someone DVR'd it and can post it.

That guy is going to be a living legend to his friends... I'm sure ESPN is looking at legal options due to being made into jackasses for letting him on the air lol...

The call itself wasn't funny, but the fact he got through to get on air somehow is ridiculous. If you've ever heard BW talk, you knew it wasn't him as soon as he started talking.

    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
