Jim Johnson vs Tavaris Jackson

Donovan's adapted to playoff pressure. The Vikes are a QB away from superbowl contention. I, for one, hope they don't find a good one.

They might say they've already found one.

Me, I'm not so sure. Jackson's improved, but I'm not convinced he has the goods in the passing game to quarterback a playoff contender.

before the eagles went on the run they are on now, everyone expected mcnabb to be gone after the season. some people thought he would fit well in minnesota (brad childress connection)

honestly, if the eagles were gonna get rid of him, i would hope he went somewhere he could succeed and the vikings would be a great situation for him.

Didn't turn out to be near the mismatch I expected.

Jackson ultimately wasn't up to it, but he fared way better than anyone thought he would.

Truth be told, I think McNabb took more pressure than Jackson did, but he's a vet.

Brad has a good 1st half gameplan and Jackson executed well. They used a 3 step drop and got rid of the ball quickly with short passes. Nullifying the eagles d-line and blitzes. They attacked Samuel a lot who was playing 10 yards off the WRs every pass.

However, in the second half. The Eagles totally took away the short passing and the Vikings couldn't pass the ball well down the field. I also thought they abandoned the run way to early in the second half. Poor adjusting by Brad. Good adjustments by Reid.

I was kinda blown away that Reid didn't give Buckhalter another rushing attempt after busting of that big gain. Buck has been really good as of late and reid isn't giving him enough touches.

I expected Childress to have a good game plan given the familiarity.

If he'd had a more veteran QB, who knows what might have happened?

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
