Tim Tebow a Panther??

The National Football Post's Michael Lombardi believes Florida QB The Golden Calf of Bristol is "very high" on the Panthers' draft board.

Lombardi doesn't have inside info here, but it's a fit that makes a lot of sense. The Panthers value high character players as much as any team in the league, and they're without a backup to Matt Moore. The Golden Calf of Bristol would give them a high-upside developmental project in case Moore falls short of franchise QB status.

after watching jake's press conference i could see them looking at The Golden Calf of Bristol and thinking that he is cut from the same cloth as jake. both highly emotional guys with great leadership and all the intangibles you could hope for.

if they value that above performance we could see that happen.

i have this feeling that The Golden Calf of Bristol fits into the mold of what fox thinks a QB should be much more than moore does.

should he fall out of the first round i would be anticipating his name getting called by the panthers.

btw...i'm not a fan of this idea but i do think it is very probable.

    • The aversion to tying up too much money in the ground game when it’s what’s winning us games is crazy to me. I get letting Rico walk if you think he’s easily replaceable but I don’t see many people arguing that, just applying an arbitrary salary cap based on what we think RBs are currently worth. I’d rather be stuck with Hubbard as an overpaid backup (not the worst one to have, mind you) than lose out on the most productive player on the offense personally.
    • Why do people keep saying things like “it’s not Young’s fault we spent so much to draft him”? Who cares if it’s his fault?  Nobody is saying send him to jail or anything.  People aren’t talking about blame for the decision to draft him, they’re talking about how bad he is as a QB and how we’d be much better with even an average QB.  Pointing out that we sunk a lot of resources into drafting him isn’t invalidated because he didn’t make that decision himself. Doesn’t matter whose fault that was, he’s still not playing like a QB who was drafted at all, much less one that cost two firsts, two seconds and a #1 WR.
