Smartest move he's made this year. Augusta National tightly controls the media and the gallery at the Master's is the most well behaved in golf.

Well technically the Master's isn't on the PGA tour or associated with the PGA, but I can imagine this to easily be the most view golf tourney ever!

Well, you got my point, how about he's coming back to GOLF... but you are right about the viewership, and I'm sure Augusta National is happy about it. Of course, knowing them, they may not give a crap... ESPN and CBS are sure happy about it.

Some interesting comments on his return:

Daily Mirror columnist Oliver Holt questioned the top-ranked golfer's reasons for coming back to play at Augusta National.

"How typical of the man to hijack the world's most famous golf tournament," Holt wrote. "How could he turn Augusta into a circus like this? Does his vanity know no limits?"

A sex drama and the Masters...doesn't seem right.

The Daily Telegraph's Mark Reason questioned the 34-year-old Woods for making his return so soon after last month's apology, where he took no questions.

"All that halting guff about maybe returning to golf one day was just a great big fib," Reason wrote. "Tiger, Tiger, pants on fire, nose as long as a telephone wire.

"How will the kids believe in him now? Woods wouldn't know the truth if it came wrapped in a polyurethane cover and had Nike stamped on it. He'd just want to know how much he could spin it."

Yea....he sounded like he would be gone a long time, but he had to already be planning the Masters return.

nobody else has to explain why they are returning to work after personal reasons, neither should he really...I'm just plain tired of hearing about him constantly. Ya, he's the best in the world, but really...he crashed his car, he cheated on his hot wife several times...let them figure it out.

I'm with Hawk.. enough with it already... but I know that's not the end of it...

I don't care for Tiger, didn't before this, don't now, but he is the best golfer in the world right now and he has the right to play, if he's able so.

I don't think he's "hijacking" the Master's... he knows that he'll receive less jeering there than at other venues and the media is so controlled there, it will be a lot easier for him to deal with.
