Game 68: Bobcats@Hawks

Credit to JJ but didn't the Bobcats have a foul to give? Why didn't we foul him before he took that shot so that we could have made it the slightest bit harder.

In theory that sounds ok. But the fact that there was only 4 secs on the clock, it was too risky.

Too risky. you get too close to the offensive player on the following inbound and the ref blows a whistle to go to the line. Also that shot couldn't have got much more difficult for JJ he is just a clutch player.

Jackson could have iced it in regulation. He knew that and he forced up some bad shots. You don't make a bad decision disappear by making more bad ones until you hit a big shot.

I wish we had a real leader on this team on the court to calm Jackson down and keep him playing inside his game. He's not a bad player, he just has questionable shot selection.

I just flat out don't trust anybody on this team with the ball in their hands in the dying seconds. That's what keeps this team down when we lose and keeps us from closing out teams when we win.

Felton, as laughable as that may be, is the most reliable option in the clutch for us this year.

I hope we get them in the playoffs first round. It'd be a good matchup for us and I feel like they would make a true rival for us.

That's what I'm hoping for also.... We've always matched up well with them, I really believe we can beat them in a 7 game series... Though I believe it will be a very very good a tight one.

Every time I went to the games vs them in Atlanta with my pal (Who is a hawks fan) I would get roasted if we were losing.... Of course I talk alot a go in bobcats gear.

Jax didnt play well tonight and he forced the issue in OT. We need him taking shots, just not the ones he settled for, and it hurt us tonight. But Im not worried about him bouncing back from it. Jax will come back strong. At the end of the game, that was a big shot by Raymond to take the lead. He's been stepping up big in the clutch lately. G-Force had a monster game tonight too crashing the boards. We're still right in the mix and didnt lose much ground tonight with Toronto & Chicago both taking L's tonight and we play MIA tomorrow.

Just when you think Felton is figuring the game out, he let's a player get a shot off with 3 seconds remaining and a foul to give. Foul the player with 2 seconds to go and force them to take it inbounds again.

Pretty much this.

It hurt to see that, but it's just one game. Hopefully we can bounce back from this quickly.

What if he just threw his arms and the ball up as Felton goes in for the foul? Then instead of a contested shot that he made because he is a great shooter Johnson would've gotten 2-3 FTs.

I'm not certain Felton deserves much blame here, LB left a bench team in that was getting crushed for to long which let the Hawks get back from an early demoralizing start. Jackson threw up some stupid shots at the end of the game which could've been the difference makers had they not been contested threes. And, at least one of our big men missed ridiculously easy uncontested shots that would've put the game away for us.

    • Don't forget the young TEs, Coker, Etienne, and Jimmy Horn Jr! 😮 I'm amped to see how the team develops over the course of this upcoming season.
    • She must be doing tricks on that thang for Bill
    • No, the casual fan gets sucked into THIS^^^ kind of thinking, and it's so woefully incorrect that it's almost sad. The first is what I've said numerous times, NOTHING about non guaranteed contracts save the billionaire owners a single penny, because they still have to spend their cap floor, and the only reason teams ever don't spend the full limit, is to then roll it over into the next season to be able to spend more that year. But in the end, owners pay the same amount of money no matter what. The reverse is also the same, that the players in totality make the same amount of money as well, because in your example of Clowney not getting that money this year, it will go to another player, as the cap needs to be spent. And you say how we just cut Clowney after we gave him the 2 year contract, but everyone including Clowney's agent and himself, knew when it was signed, that it was more likely to be a 1 year contract than a 2 with how it was structured.  The 2nd year was just to be able to spread out the cap hit and he was always most likely going to end up getting traded or cut. It's why agents and players don't care about the total money in a contract, it's always and only been about the guaranteed money, as the years and overall value are meaningless, always have been, always will be.
