Went back and looked at the last 3 draft results and at least 6 wide recievers went in the top 50. Mostly at the top of the second.I'd be happy with any of these 6 guys assuming we stay pat.

1.Bryant

2.Tate

3.Thomas

4.Williams

5.Gilyard

6.Lafell

I left Benn out of the equation cuz i just don't like him.

other choices would be decker, roberts, and shipley...all of which i think would be a major reach there.

If you went back and did this research did you not come to the conclusion that you can subtract 1-2-3-4-6. Golden Tate and Dez Bryant are the 1st round class of this group. At the top of the 2nd the Rams, Bucs, Dolphins, and Patriots are all in the market for a top WR. Why the hate on Benn? Benn, Roberts, and Gilyard are likely the choices we will have.

I simply stated I'd be happy with any of those guys if they fell to us. I also stated I personally wouldnt want us to reach for the next tier of recievers. Reason I dont like Benn is as my old coach used to say "potential rides the pine and perfomance plays on the field". And since your either tired or dumb I'll explain that statement. Benn did'nt do anything to warrant a top 50 pick in college, scouts are just now getting hyped about him because of his physique.

and just to clarify I dont think Bryant will fall to us but you never know thats why teams create a big board. I was just putting my big board on w.r's up. In addition to that Brandt whos much more of a reliable opinion on this kind of thing actually thinks tate falls to 48

Benn ran a 4.40 at his pro weighing 218. Who was his QB at Illinois? Exactly if he had played in a gimmick offense like Crabtree and Dez he could very well be the top WR. As it stands i actually don't even think he will be there. This is how i would rank the WR's.

1. Golden Tate

2. Dez Bryant

3. Arrelious Benn

4. Damian Williams

5. Brandon Lefell

6. Carlton Mitchell

7. Mardy Gilyard

8. Andre Roberts

9. Demaryius Thomas

10.Taylor Price

No way Tate falls to 48, he would be falling almost an entire round, when there is nothing that has pulled up a red flag against him.

If other receivers were flying up the board then I would understand, but they aren't.

Bryant

Tate

Thomas

Williams

Benn

McCluster

LaFell

Price

Mitchell

Decker

Ford

Gilyard

    • The same folks crying about the OL right now were crying about it in 2023 too. We have tied up over 100 million dollars in two interior olinemen alone and we have Taylor Moton inked to a recent extension. We've invested multiple first and second round picks in the offense. We hired an offensive minded head coach. This is an offensive team. The offense needs to produce or people need to be replaced.
    • This is the same place that has ridiculed and blasted Caleb Williams at every opportunity he has his team sitting at 10-4 in the same NFC that the Panthers are competing in. And their division in the NFC North is as or more competitive as our division. Yet from the same people who have very high standards for Williams we get every excuse imaginable for the smallest starting QB in the league even when he and his team continue to disappoint when the pressure is on. You lot aren't any less inconsistent than anyone else.
    • The Panthers are 9th in cap spent on offense this year.  However next season is already a different story  The Panthers as it stands right now will be 18th in cap spent on offense and 8th in cap spent on defense  The Panthers are currently set to spend more on defense next year than they are on offense this season Guys like Jaycee and Moehrig cap numbers take a big jump. Wharton has a massive cap hit   Jaycee Moehrig and Wharton in 2025 The same 3 in 2026 So this same defense as it stands right now will cost more in 2026 than this offense does right now… Got anything else you want to try?
