Top W.R'S AND D.T'S

Been researching these 2 postions like crazy and the consensus seems to be that these are 2 of our most pressing needs and as luck would have it the draft seems to be fairly deep at both positions

Heres my personal favorites that could fall to the top of the 2nd round, where we could potentially trade up to and others should be there when we pick.

W.R'S Assumes Bryant is a 1st round pick

1.Demaryius Thomas

2.Golden Tate

3A.Damian Williams

3B.Brandon Lafell

4.Mardy Gilyard

5.Dezmon Briscoe

p.s I dont Like Benn at all

D.T'S Assumes Suh,Mccoy, Dan Williams, and Odrick are gone

1.Brian Price

2.Terrance Mount Cody

3.Tyson Aluala

Arthur Jones looks like he has some serious potential on tape, but has been hampered by injuries, hard to gauge his value but more than likely a guy who could be a sleeper.

W.R'S: Assuming Dez Bryant and Golden Tate are 1st round picks

1. Demaryius Thomas

2. Damian Williams

3. Rejus Benn

4. Brandon Lafell

5. Mardy Gilyard

6. Carlton Mitchell

7. Andre Roberts

8. Taylor Price (i've heard we're very high on this kid)

9. Riley Cooper

10. Jordan Shipley

D.T'S: Assuming Suh, Mccoy and Dan Williams are 1st round picks

1. Brian Price (i think he'll be drafted in round 1, yeah, i've heard the lately 'out of shape' topic)

2. Lamarr Houston, UT

3. Terrence Cody, NT

4. Jared Odrick (i think he'll be drafted in round 1 to a 3-4 team)

5. Geno Atkins, UT

6. Arthur Jones, UT

7. Tyson Alualu (i want him...away from my team)

8. Torrell Troup, NT

9. Linval Joseph, NT

10. Jeff Owens, NT

Just my two cents ;)

I think the chance of us staying pat and having Brian Price fall into our laps has gone from slim to somewhat possible after that quite ugly pro day he had last week. It would be hard to pass him up.

Yeap would love it. I think he is the of the most underrated DT in this draft (followed by Troup).

Demaryus Thomas is going to be a bust. Mark it down...the kid is a specimen but he can't run routes and he can't catch for s***. I'm all for people marking him as a big time talent because then maybe Tate will fall to us. I don't get how Tate isn't top 2 with a sub-4.4 forty time and the amount of yards, catches, and TDs he had at ND. He'll be a Desean Jackson type steal if we can get him in the 2nd. I PRAY that we don't pass him up if he is there.

    • If we don't go OT, we will regret it.  What bothers me?  Are we going to get a starting-caliber OT at 19?  I think the draft is solid at OT, and the more I read up and watch video, the more I watch Lomu, the more I want him.   I see Freeling as a RT who needs some work in run blocking (since we need to run first, maybe not a good fit) and I see Proctor ending up as a Guard.  After Lomu (assuming Mouigia and fanu are gone), I think we wait until round 2.  In round 2, there are about 3-4 I like (Zuhn--good pass blocker and VERY underrated right now; Tiernan is a very good pass blocker as is Miller from Clemson, but both are not good in the run game.  Max Ixxxxx from Ariz St is impressive too---technically, there is not a of difference in these second tier guys--good in pass pro, need work in the run game.   If we wait until round 2 for an OT, we probably need to sign Nijman and start him early.   I almost think this is what we should do if Lomu is gone.  There is a big dropoff after him, imo, and I think we'd get better value if a stud ILB or edge is there.  Someone like TJ Parker Clemson makes sense. If Lomu is gone, trading back might be the play.
    • And what is x gunna help with except show him what not to do. Plus for the first year and a half he was just an obstacle
    • I understand that some people want WR. I am solidly against using yet another high pick there. Coker is pretty good and we used No picks on him.  What I think we really need at WR is a little bit of a Smitty lite. It is ridiculous to say let’s get a Smitty because you just can’t do that, but someone not tall and long striding but more in his mold. I think we’d have a pretty well rounded group.    Looking at tackle, with replacing Moton looming, it just seems like the no brainer.  You fill in Icky short term. Depending on how he recovers, and how the new guy plays, you go from there. A tackle at 19 is most likely either a LOT, a ROT, or a big talented guard, at worst. We will need all three in the next couple of years.  I would love to have a stud ILB be there at 19 but the OL is the responsible thing to do I believe.
