lmao... I think I started the Rivera rumor here...

This Campbell one didn't come from me though... I heard it elsewhere...

Sir you will not steal the GLORY of the Ron Riviera having Lunch with Marty Hurney @ Zebra in Southpark thread that I started years ago.

I did one before your time here began I believe.

This was the Panthershuddle.com days.

Observer picked up the story from the forum

Zod and the rest of the mods/admin got in it as well.

Fox was getting traded for 2 1st's to the Gmen.

Do you honestly think they let go of Jake Delhomme - an established starter who not only knew the system, but had success in it, and was very well liked by his teammates - for the stated reason that they wanted to establish that Matt Moore was now the guy, just so they could bring in someone else who had no familiarity with the offense, the receivers or the coaches and make that guy the "competition"?

Seriously?

Backup? Yes.

Competition? No :nonod:

Exactly.

I don't know why people can't seem to wrap their minds around that simple concept.

You can state all the issues Campbell had to deal with on the Redskins, but that won't change the fact that there is no realistic chance he has beating out Moore to start this season. He'd be learning yet another new system.

This season is Moore's unless he gets injured.

Backup is all he can hope to be this coming season. Unless he prays for injury to our starter like some fans do.

DUUUDE!

I've been here since way before then... ;)

I remember the Fox to NYG one, but I don't recall the Rivera episode aside from my rumor (which I really didn't push too hard, and didn't really take off)... I hate I missed yours though!

    • Great teams build through the draft and have several young players that start that are on rookie contracts. It's important to hit on players in rounds 4 thru 7.  These should be future starters and solid depth.  When you hit on most of your picks you free up a lot of cap space for those one- or two-year players to fill spots you are thin at. No GM is going to perfect on all their picks.  You're going to whiff every once in a while.  That was Hurney problem.  He'd nail the first pick but after that it was reach after reach and we couldn't get any depth on this team. I'm excited about Morgan as our GM and hopefully he'll be around a long time.  It will be even better if Canales can continue to grow as a head coach, both in the development of young players and play calling. I remember last season after Young came back in the lineup and started to perform well.  We saw different plays I had only seen other teams use.   If Canales's play design and play calling continue to grow. Morgan and Canales will be linked together for a long time.  It would be nice to see a Coach and GM together for a decade or two. Go Panthers
    • They also came out for the encore and the singers were dressed in canes jerseys. Pretty fuging cool.
    • She kicked ass. Obviously not the same but it’s an absolute pleasure to see this band live. What a great evening.
