I’ll never understand people around here taking up for Rhule. This guy literally wanted to get rid of “Keep Pounding”. He deserves nothing but mockery

lol, I'm hardly "taking up for Rhule." I acknowledged he sucked in my post. It's just that considering it's gotten considerably worse somehow since he left, maybe he wasn't quite as bad as we all thought. Scale of 0 to 10, 10 being Andy Reid, my opinion of Rhule when he was fired was a 0. Now it's like a 1 or 2. That's what I was saying.

Either way, I'll never understand people on here caring about how Rhule does at Nebraska now that he's gone. Sure he was douchy and a terrible coach for us but rooting for him to fail when he now has nothing to do with the Panthers seems quite silly. But to each their own.

edit: also, a source please on Rhule wanting to get of "Keep Pounding." that had Tepper written all over it before he saw the fan backlash and backtracked.

I believe you but would love to hear more about this

I’ll post it here

Matt came in with an energy when Tepper wasn’t there due to Covid and travel and Marty Hurney was like “we can’t let this guy leave the building”

money is no issue

Matt comes and is in charge of everything because that’s what he’s use to. It’s why college coaches struggle. Players always change but the coach remains the same.

Matt gets a new fancy parking spot at the front with his name on it. That comes out of the coaches budget. “What’s a budget?” Matt asks. Ok Matt this is a business and this isn’t college where money is thrown at you just because.

I want this I want that I want this I want that Matt says. Operations staff is on the brunt of it saying “ok Matt but we have to do bids and such”

What?!?! Matt says

then he starts putting his input on how things operate in the building.

It was the little things, he doesn’t understand that he’s the coach not the face of the panthers. There so many little things that he did that he and his staff were use to in Waco.

It’s why FC has faired better than the panthers. College vs professional decorum.

I know people in operations who they both works Panthers and FC and it’s night and day with the sides of the building.

We are dealing with Ghosts of Matt I’m not even joking.

    • It's not only about the draft spots, the scheduling is a huge factor. We already have a tough 2026 schedule by playing the North divisions, that's possibly 7 playoff contenders there and a few true SB contenders between the Lions, Packers, Vikings, Bears, Ravens, Bengals, and Steelers (Browns will still suck lol), while also pulling the AFC West for the 17th game. Let's just say for the sake of argument we are going to be true contenders in 2026 in both scenarios Would you rather go 9-8 and to make the playoffs as the last WC or worst division winner, lose in the first round and then have to add likely the Eagles/Commanders, 49ers/Rams, and Chiefs/Chargers to an already tough schedule because we have a 1st/2nd round finish this year, while picking 19th in the draft (where the worst playoff team picks) or Or lose an extra game to finish 8-9, while ending up in 3rd (obviously need Falcons/Bucs to get a WC spot) and miss the playoffs, but then get to add likely the Cowboys/Giants, Seahawks/Cardinals, Broncos/Raiders to the schedule while picking 13th in the draft (the highest an 8-9 team picked this year). I can understand why some people would just want to go to the playoffs again, and I can't fault that thinking.  But I'm always a bigger picture person and looking at what is best for the future of the franchise and winning a SB, not my immediate feelings that game/season.   So I'm taking those 3 SIGNIFICANTLY easier games and the 6 better draft spots. If we're a true contender in 2026, those 3 games based on divisional finish could very well be the difference of a 1 vs whatever seed.  Right now the top teams in the NFC are the teams who play in places you don't want to have road playoff games at... GB, Detroit, Philly are some of the toughest stadiums to play in, especially if cold weather games for the outdoors ones.  Give me the few extra easier games to hopefully make the difference in getting home field advantage. Making the playoffs to just lose in the first round isn't worth the first scenario to me when the alternative is losing maybe one or two more games while looking better while doing so.  I can stomach those extra losses in a much improved season when it's for the betterment of our future.
    • We also watched Cam take Carolina to the SB but how much did his career change when he went to the Pats? See how that works? You create a post just to rag on player on another team just because you hate. You love to do this stuff. I've seen it for a few years. You are one of the main problems on this site. Not just y0u but you're definitely one of them. This topic should be in the nfl general chat. As a mod I would think you would understand that but no. The mods need mods around here.  This is for Panther's material. Can a real mod move this thread to it's proper place please?
