MY take on the offseason...

jkjkjk, i'm sick of these threads too, so i'm going to ax you guys a question:

What is the single most ridiculous piece of panther paraphernalia that you own? I'm talking completely tacky, cheesy, and unnecessary to own, but you have it simply because there's a panther on it.

and go

I have a Panthers garden gnome that lost its legs in a domestic dispute (innocent bystander the poor bastard). Now he hides out in a bush in the front yard with just his head sticking out. I like him, so I don't want to just throw him away, but I admit that I got him right before the playoffs the season before last and I still blame him for all the bad luck since. (and no the legs broke about a month ago, not right before Moore started)

I don't have a problem with using the idea for a thread but there are too many threads with this same topic. I don't see how some think it's too early to have a prediction for next season. I'm sure some Redskins fans are excited for next year and are expecting to win some games and possibly make the playoffs with their additions.

The Panthers on the other hand haven't done too much in terms of additions (they never do really as they build through the draft). They have lost several players though and are coming off a mediocre 8-8 season. Not sure how coming off a great season and having some solid additions in the off season is good reason to be hyped (New York Jets?) but coming off a mediocre season and losing a handful of players all the while having no first round pick (Panthers) is not a reason to be disappointed at this point.

I have a F*CK Dallas t-shirt from the playoffs in 2003. It was a low quality street printed variety. It's tacky, and a crappy graphic design, but I can't seem to part ways with it.

If you ever want to part with it you should get as many autographs as possible from various players coaches cheerleaders, from a multitude of teams and then wait a couple years and sell it on EBAY. On second thought try to get politicians, nascar drivers (dale jr would increase the value. He is a Washington fan) and any body you can think of with a name to sign it Or better yet list it on ebay and see what it fetches then pull it off and sell it the next time dallas wins a super bowl.

Bet it could add to the nest egg

    • That's also in an era when DBs could press for 10 yards, Qbs could be hit, QBs could have players land on them, incidental contact could be made with the head etc. You can't compare bryce to players like this. What you can do is say who's done less over their first 30 starts and had more resources dedicated to them and at that point you're looking at like Joey Harrington.  At least with Joey there weren't morons in the fan base falling over themselves to compare him to players from the first year of the NFL merger.
    • Brees had a pro bowl year in year 3. Phillip Rivers was drafted anyways and Brees went off for two more years before his shoulder was completely torn up in the last game of the 2006 season.
    • The last time this franchise was in this much despair pre Tepper, the rumors of the banner flyover were met by the front office. They quickly worked with the disgruntled fans to quell any potential negative event occurring at the Stadium or TV. The real question is do we even have enough fans that care to get together behind a movement like this again or is our fan base too far gone that we dont care to revolt like this? Personally, I still go to games each year no matter how terrible it is, but it has went from something I spent all week looking forward to almost as enjoyable as yearly physical. We can count the blunders this franchise has made in keeping Head Coaches, General Managers and players too long. (Rivera,Rhule, Hurney, Fitterrer). Team wise we've missed out on Herbert, we didnt trade Burns for 2 1st round picks, we reached by taking Bryce who would have most likely been were we were going to draft anyway, and extended players who constantly underperformed like Ian Thomas. Even when we are gifted a chance like 2 first for Burns that we shouldnt have paid premium, we fumbled a chance to really jump start the franchise. So this is more to everyone as a whole. How much of your Soul for this team is left? Is it still there that if there was a glimmer of hope, you'd come right back or has the futility of this team negated your love for football completely?
