FOr those who have not seen it, Gruden and Clausen....

Anything anti-The Golden Calf of Bristol is ok in my book.

"I am a virgin and I dont believe in abortion. I am a warrior of God and I have a huge head."

I am a Christian myself, but damn The Golden Calf of Bristol. Chill out, live a little. You stuck up douche. Denver screwed themselves royally on the pick. Glad they passed on Clausen in hinds sight though.

Don't give a crap about any of that. Personality wise, I would much rather have The Golden Calf of Bristol than Clausen. The Golden Calf of Bristol seems more mature. Not that I think he is more talented, just more mature.

I don't see anything that says he threw the WR under the bus. He checked and the WR either didn't get it or checked to another route than Clausen thought. He said there was miscommunication between the WR and himself. How is that throwing the WR under the bus?

Crap, in this overly politically correct age, a guy can't tell the truth without being criticized for not owning up to someone elses mistakes.

The interview went fine....

he can be as mature as a 60 year old man, but if he can't play what does it matter? he can play. he has time to man up.

I be highly touted coach.

WR ran the wrong route.

Plays were coming in too slow.

I be highly touted though coach...

The kid is a jerk and will get a knot jerked in his arse real quick. Will he make it? Doubtful.

Still don't see it. I don't know about the plays coming in slowly, but the WR clearly ran the wrong route. WTF is the matter saying that? Anyways, he took partial blame. No wonder kids are such pansies now-a-days. You have always got to consider others feelings first at the expense of making yourself look inept. Clausen stated a point without sugar coating it. Good for him!

I remember hearing the Steve Smith interview posted in the forum some time ago, and how he was complimenting Clausen on his confidence and such. This right here contradicts that. I don't see any confidence in him right now. Nor do I see leadership. I say he definitely has at least a year until he matures, a year in which he probably could have used in college.

Just some thoughts.

"What makes you think you are ready?"

"Coach Weiss says so"

Really? Good lord.

Then he throws his receiver under the bus in the next question.

Also, watch his body language. He looks like a highschooler interviewing for a mcdonalds job. Can't sit still, poor posture, figity.

This guy has all the physical tools, but has a ton of growing up to do. A senior year would have done him well me thinks.

Why do you troll your own website?

    • I must apologize, my sarcasm at times doesnt translate well in text form lol. At this point I would welcome us signing him, Trey Lance, trading for Jameis Winston, asking about Deshaun Watson and playing phone tag with Tom Brady before I ever fully entertain a season of Bryce Young being the defacto Starting Quarterback of the Panthers.

    • We had a QB who could do that and its the last time we went to the Super Bowl and the only time we had an MVP. Once he lost his ability to do that he was out of the league. To filter out insignificant stats I will only look at QBs who have played in 10 or more games this year. There are 28 qualifying QBs. Bryce is 25th in Air Yards per Attempt at 6.4. Only Joe Flacco, Cam Ward, and Dillon Gabriel are worse (6.0, 5.8, 5.1). Trevor Lawrence, Patrick Mahomes, and CJ Stroud are the median QBs at 7.1. Drake Maye and Sam Darnold lead the league at 8.7. Bryce is 18th in the league for passes that travel 30+ yards at 12. The median is Caleb Williams at 15. The league leader is Matthew Stafford with 26. With passes that travel 40+ yards, Bryce is tied with three others at 21st in the league with 3. Only Jacoby Brissett, Cam Ward, Joe Flacco, and Dillon Gabriel are worse. The median is a three-way tie with Drake Maye, Trevor Lawrence, and Baker Mayfield with 6. The league leader is Sam Darnold with 12. Having the ability to complete passes down the field (not YAC) stretches the defense and makes them account for more ground. It keeps players out of the box and keeps formations in nickel or dime, less line backers for your RBs to worry about. Bryce is why we have 2 losses against the Saints. If he had the outright ability to sling the football down field we beat the easily, but he doesn't. So they crowded the box and our 2 starting caliber RBs with our top ~10 Oline couldn't carry the offense to a win on their own. The limitations of the offense fall squarely on Bryce.
