Halo Reach Beta

There's nothing great or artistic about Halo. I'd rather play Quake III any day.

that can be debated in many ways that I don't feel like going into at 150am

but for the short version, while I will say that not every game should be considered art Halo should atleast be considered in the same way as your summer block buster, may not win many awards for originality but it's very entertaining and always worth the money.

as for Quake 3 over Halo how can you say that? I honestly wonder how much time you've spent on any of the Halo games, while Quake was good for the time saying that series has been run into the ground might be a understatement. that franchise hasn't been news worth since when now?

I used to blow Warthogs 200 feet in the air on Halo out of boredom. Halo 2 eliminated the good things about Halo, like the immense, wide open maps for the expense of more lens flare and filters even though it was delayed over a year and a half. And then there was that poo eating sword.

And ODST? People really paid 60 bucks for a 5 hour campaign and 3 new multiplayer maps?

LOL

And you people defend that franchise.

Makes me wonder if you've ever played anything other than Halo or a CoD game.

Oh, and people still make new maps for Quake III on PC.

hey every one knew what ODST was before you bought it, it wasn't exactly a secret and if they didn't know they had they're head in the sand. personally though the Co-op was pretty good, the Endure achievement was very challenging and satisfying to get.

Also what about Halo 2 having small maps? yeah the maps in team slayer were pretty mid-small range but the big team battle maps were pretty big, to say otherwise would either be ignorant of the game and just be straight up speaking out your ass.

and what are you talking about with the sword? if anything it was more powerful in H3 then H2, but also played a lesser role because of other changes, and even now in the Halo Reach beta they've now made the sword even less power full is a certain way.

yeah and people still play the free multiplayer Demo for Soldier of Fortune for the PC, just because someone does something doesn't make it good or relevant.

Played The quake and Unreal games for a bit got bored pretty fast especially unreal but then again I haven't been much a PC gamer since 2002

While Battlefield is a great game and in the right direction, it pales in comparison to MW2 graphically and style of play. Granted MW2 isn't perfect but a hybrid of the two with a focus more on MW2 gameplay and the addition of tanks, planes and destructable enviornments would seal the deal. I am not sure if that would even be possible with the current gen systems.

You missed it by a few years. Good luck finding anyone playing this anymore.

I thought he was talking about the campaign maps. You could exit almost every map and walk through areas you were never meant to see. In Halo 2, we got invisible walls. I can only remember 2 spots where you could exit a map. One was used ad nauseam by glitchers.

I honestly just don't get all of the hate for the franchise. I understand not everyone is going to like the same thing but damn... I mean as a rule I don't like Indian food, I just don't spend any amount of effort in convincing people who do how bad their taste is.

Generally the hate comes from the fact that Halo is an average to good FPS but is treated like it's the greatest game ever because it is a good FPS on console.

Before Halo, what good FPS was on consoles? Goldeneye?

I agree with the masses about Halo:CE and thats about it. Halo 2 and 3 have left much to be desired. Halo 2 was garbage, IMO.

Halo 3 has some great multiplayer moments, but not much else.
