What's up with Dexter Jackson?

I understand he was picked up last year and has seen work at KR/PR so far in mini camp (that being all i've heard about him doing), but what are the chances he sees the field at WR? If he is not a capable WR what is it that he is lacking? I was a big fan of his coming out of college, but haven't heard much about him after going to Tampa Bay.

The knock on him in Tampa was that he shied away from contact and was afraid to get hit. Him being part of the Gruden regime didn't help much and he was one of the casualties of the new crew in town. Apparently our coaching staff sees something that they like from him because he was one of the first guys signed to the 2010-2011 roster after last season was over.

If he makes the team it will be on special teams. The guy is fast I would love to see him go deep but with all the new w/r's someone will be the odd man out.

I can tell you this after seeing him throughout the off season. The kid can fly running straight ahead, but lacks the sharp change in direction ability. He definitely has a downside of not wanting to take a hit, and really does not have good enough hands to be a dangerous wide receiver. I think the only shot he has is in the special teams, and I think that munnerlyn/edwards are a few steps ahead of him in that game.

Here's a better question about Jackson.

Assume he has gotten over his fear. Does he have the tools to win a roster spot over Smith, LaFell, Edwards, Jarrett, or Gettis?
