roster moves?

lets look at our roster and see what could be moved.....

DJ - has value

diaw- we all hate him, but it only takes 1 team to like him

tyson- last yr contract 11 million.....

nazr- believe it is also his last yr aroun 7million i believe

those are the only trade pieces we really have

PG (maybe felton, i wouldnt pay him 9 mill like he wants), ????

SG- jack, hendo

SF wallace, brown

PF tyrus thomas(we bettr resign...a must)

C ???, ajinca( i think he will provide consitant min next yr as backup role), diop (we jus straight up stuck with him till his contract is a last yr deal,in 2 more yrs)

1. we wont move both naz and tyson so 1 will prolly start,

2. felton is not worth the money he wants, he isnt worth more than 6 million

3. we will have a 5 million exemption, tons of good FA's this yr, i d love the signing of brendon haywood, great shotblocker with decent offense... loves charlotte and practices with our team all summer anyway... maybe a home discount????

also could look at a kyle korver, we really need a consistant shooter, he would bring that here.....

we dont have any picks in draft so we bettr find some talent in FA or in moving some ending contracts, there can be amazing deals in trading ending deals look at pau gasols trade, an then last yr kevin martin for tmac.... its there we just have to find it...

-possibly cp3 with ownership changing (theyd be crazy to trade cp3)

-rumors are monta ellis could be available (he would be a 20 pt scorer, with a few assist)

any other ideas?? maybe calderon from raptors, he has fallen out of favor for jarret jack, he is a consitant 3 pt shooter and 10 assist man with a 97% FT...

all i know is we must do something, just wanna hear some ideas!

I bet Jordan & company are dreading just thinking about this off-season!

I mean, on one hand, the team started to turn things around, they sold a few tickets, and the city slowly started to embrace the team. On the other hand, they get swept out of the first round and just look embarrassing!!!

And now, they have to decide where they stand with what they have, weighing the fact that their future hall of fame coach may or may not return and they have zero picks in the upcoming draft!!!

This team can't catch a break!

I really don't know what I would do. Their first goal should be to make sure Larry returns, because I feel that together with Higgens & Jordan, the three of them will make the necessary moves, if not now - then during the season, to keep us competitive enough to make another push.

Without Larry, everything falls apart. That's just my opinion.

I think at the end of the day, Tyson will get his option because I can't see any other team wanting to match it. Tyrus will be interested. Felton is most likely a goner -- I just feel deep down, that the Bobcats want to hand the starting job over to DJ. It's his time.

All in all, I have no idea what we're in for. I just want to get through the draft and make sure Larry is back, and then hope somehow everything balances out.

MJ has said moves are coming, and I'm in the group that believes him. What I do think is entirely possible is a trade for CP3. We need a PG, the Hornets are in a sort of rebuilding phase and they like the guy that replaced Paul while he was injured (his name escapes me). Not only do we need a PG, but we need a star player and our owner loves CP3. I wouldn't expect a trade, but if we get him it won't surprise me.

Other than making the huge moves though, there are a few smaller things we can do. We've got some expiring contracts we can ship out. We can sign-and-trade Felton. And as much as I do like Stephen Jackson, I think it might be best for us to move him to free up some payroll if we can get a legitimate #1 scoring threat for the team. Again, I think this is unlikely too, but I consider nobody on this team other than Gerald Wallace untouchable. If it makes the team better, do it, because the Bobcats aren't in a spot to be picky.

Darren Collison was the backup pointguard. He was a rookie along with a second round draft pick rookie playing the shooting guard Marcus Thorton. Both played fantastic in Paul's absence, and both are much cheaper. As crazy as it sounds Hornets are in a good position to move Paul.

I will be beyond excited if we get Chris Paul.

I don't think our roster looks anything like it does now this time next year.

QFT

The only starter that's really worthy of keeping around for any extended time is Gerald Wallace, and even he is a complementary player. What we need is a star player and an actual dependable post presence before this team is going anywhere. We were good enough to make the playoffs this year, but we caught a big break when Bogut got hurt.

I think it is time for our young guys to step it up. I would like to see Henderson, Brown and Ajinca coming off the bench and getting minutes. A depth chart like this would intrigue me.

PG- CP3, DJ

SG- J-Ho, Hendo

SF- G-Force, Brown

PF- TT, Ajinca

C- Tyson, Diop

Hendo and Brown can probably both contribute next year, but I have seen nothing from Ajinca to make me think he is an NBA quality player.

If Felton walks, we may be glad that we have Augustin.

The Bobs are in a real catch 22 with Felton. Let him walk and you may not be able to replace him via trade, FA, or improvement by DJ. Pay him to keep him around and you will never be better than the 5 seed in the East.

    • I gave you a full breakdown and examples from last year as to why I think it's unfair to expect 1k from T-Mac this year if everyone stays healthy. But the TLDR version is we will have 4 legitimately good WRs next year, most rookies who get to 1,000 yards don't have any others on the team with them let alone 3 others, it will be hard for him to put up 1k with out the others being injured or falling short of expectations themselves, but in 2026 without Thielen it's different.
    • Ulcerative Colitis is not CTE.
    • Last year Thielen had 615 yards in 10 games (had more ypg than his 1k season in 23).  XL had 497 in 16 games with tons of drops and Coker had 478 in 11. They also only had only 192 of our 518 targets to get those numbers. So if Thielen has 1,000 yards again, XL and Coker each improve to say 600 yards each, and T-Mac comes in at 800 yards, you're going to say that's not good enough?  Especially if he ends up with close to, if not getting to, double digit TD's like I think he will, as he's going to be a red zone monster for Bryce? Because if that's the breakdown of just the Top 4 and Bryce plays all 17 games, he's going to be pushing a 4,000 yard season as the TEs, RBs, and other WRs will probably add up to 750-1k yards as well, and I think that would be far more than anyone here could be expecting of him this season. Last year the Giants only had 2 players with more than 331 yards besides Nabers and they were 699 and 573 while Nabers "only" had 1,200 yards (granted in 15 games).  While the Jags second leading receiving was a TE with 411 yards and BTJ also "only" had 1,282 but in all 17 games. Odunze couldn't get there (734 in 17 games) with Moore and Allen there, just as McConkey was able to get there because his competition for targets was Quentin Johnson (711 yards), Josh Palmer (584), and Will Dissly (481) who I think Thielen, XL, and Coker are all better than any of them. If everyone stays healthy and XL/Coker have improved, I think Bryce is going to spread the ball around rather than focus on T-Mac in a way that most of the 1k rookies have been able to get. Again I point to MHJ and the Cardinals last year. They had 3,859 yards receiving.   McBride had 1,146, MHJ had 885, then their 3rd and 4th in rec yards were 548 and 414. Take the 146 and 85 that McBride/MHJ had over my example for our guys and give them to the other two and they get to 7 yards shy of the 600 I'm using for XL/Coker, while the rest of the team added up to 866 yards. So, if you expect T-Mac to get to 1k, where are you taking those yards from? if anything, XL and Coker each getting 600 yards seems like a low projection, so they wouldn't come from there. Maybe they come from Thielen now that we have T-Mac as the true #1.  But I think if anything, having T-Mac draw attention will just make it easier for Thielen to get open and him and Bryce have great chemistry already, he's not going to stop throwing his way if he can pick up easy chunks of yards there. So maybe they come from the RBs, TEs, other WRs, but it's I think a very fair example to show why expecting 1,000 yards if everyone stays healthy isn't necessarily fair to him. It's also why I said I'd then expect at least 1,200 yards in 2026, as once Thielen leave and all 3 of T-Mac/XL/Coker get better, they absorb that 1,000 yards Thielen leaves behind with T-Mac probably taking close to half of it and the other two splitting up the other half.
