Does Rods System Hold us Back?

Defense, it’s one of the best.  Be he asks so much of the players does it hold the offensive guys back from being great.  Necas a 100 point guy in Colorado. Would Aho or Svech be a 100 guy somewhere else? If so we just suck at finding top end guys and developing them?

A bit early to declare Necas a 100 pt player in Colorado?  He's got 5 points in 5 games.

I don't think Rod is the problem.

It feels like this is a huge problem, but I think it's because it's mostly on the power play.  I was curious so I started checking stats vs the rest of the NHL.  The Canes are actually 3rd in the league in shots on goal, and give up the 2nd fewest shots on their own goal.

The power play is easily the Canes worst team stat right now.  They rank 21st in the league with 20.13%

That’s becasue they shoot everything from outside the dots.  Tons of low danger. 
 

as for the 20th ranked PP. I’m sorry but not sorry, it’s closer to 32nd vs 20th. It’s horrific. Tonight I saw that we are getting new PP line combos. Rod did change stuff up. See if it works.

Rod system is definitely the issue. Moose is an absolute stud and has been neutered under Rod. Aho, Jarvis, Svech could be elite scorers. Not under Rods old system.  When we flame out again from not being able to score….i can’t wait to hear the excuses for Rod this time.

It is, but I think his biggest issue is chaining himself to his coaches.

Rod is getting absolutely trashed on Twitter and social media. People are waking up to that his system is holding our guys back. Lots of real worry that Moose is not going to come back to the canes. I don’t blame him. Rod is 100% holding him back. Moose had only 18 minutes of ice time last night.

I guess I don't know what "Rod's system" is. I know he wants pucks on net and I've always looked at that number to check the temperature of their offense. But, there are few players on this roster who are living up to that part of his "system."

That said, who, right now, is actually trying to create time & space to get a shot off? Seth Jarvis. But, look at the top SOG on the team: Svech (147), Aho (140), Burns (124), Jarvis (123). The next 3 guys are all defensemen, with Roslovic stuck in amongst them. Hell, the defensemen are shooting more than the forwards!

I turned off the game after the second period last night because the Canes were simply passing too much. And, because they already pass too much and don't usually pass with any pace, nobody on the opposing team is caught out of position. In my mind, if the Canes aren't averaging 10 SOG per period, they aren't shooting enough.

Other than that, I guess I don't know what RBA's system is.

Necas scored again to win last night and had 64 points on the year  Two behind Moose. It’s clear as day Rod is holding guys like Jarvis, Svech, and Aho back. Including Moose. 
 

rod doesn’t change the way they play, the canes will loose moose(probably going to happen) and flame out round 1. Bank it.  Rod is the problem and I will die on that hill.
