Some more NFC South stats I dug up.

The ops post only proves that all four teams have been equally average. All four teams have had three winning seasons since 2002 which means we have all been the same as far as being contenders. His post does not prove that the panthers have ever been the team to beat when their numbers are all isentical. If you are going to give an edge to anyone it has to be to the ones with the hardware. Skewing facts to make your team look better is something insecure homers do

Assuming ignorance is bliss, you must be doing great. You are obviously incapable of considering any viewpoints outside your own, so I'll simply leave you to it. I wrote my post for the benefit of everyone else on the board. This is specifically for you:

Simply re-stating your position does not make it any more/less true. If you've nothing more to add, then neither do I. If you decide to actually bring anything lucid thoughts to the discussion, I'll be happy to chime in. otherwise, i'm out.

I wasn't trying to bash anyone, I was just making my argument. I'm sorry if that offended you, that wasn't ever my intention.

I can't tell that you were taking a cheap shot at me. I was speaking to those persons that are talking down to others when it is unneccessary, hypocritical, and... quite frankly... ironic in its context.

Those are the facts. You don't have to accept them but that's what they are. You can leave if you don't like them

...and getting all pissy about it.

It's like watching people stranded on an island fighting for food.

What are the facts? You have stated nothing but opinion.

Wow. Cable must be out today....

Let me make this very easy. Each year, one team wins, and 31 teams lose. How well you did leading up to that last game doesn't mean squat if you lose that last game. Ask New England how 18 wins stack up against 1 loss.

Bottom line- how many Lombardi Trophys do we have? That's how many "winning seasons" we have. Being the tallest midget or the smartest retard is not a valid argument.

That is a ridiculous way of looking at it.

IF that were the only measuring stick, why do they reverse order the draft, why do they then determine the schedule based on previous years standing, why is it record can get you into the playoffs via the wildcard?

Superbowl wins are OBVIOUSLY what every team is aspiring to win every single season. However, they are a mark of how great a franchise is. As a superbowl winning team can go and poo the bed the following season and then proceed to be a bottom dweller for the rest of time. The great franchises go on to win more super bowls, the poor ones continue to have none.

The whole point of this thread though, was who has been the team to beat since 2002. Which statistically shows the Panthers are on average the team to beat. TB & NO had one year in that time period where they were the team to beat, but the whole point of this thread, is the long term averages since 2002.

EDIT

Everyone chiming in with their clever 'give me %'s rather than lombardi comments need to grow up. No one here is arguing they would rather be a consistent team to beat than have a super bowl. No one is stupid enough to think that coming close consistently is better than winning won. However the Panthers have no had to endure anything like what they other teams have experienced in their extreme losing seasons. So whilst NO & TB deserve recognition for the lombardi, I am glad us as Panther fans have not had to sit through a season worse than 7 wins since 2001.
