Disagree all you want. It was absolutely a luxury pick, as explained, and if those people can't see that then they have much bigger issues rolling there way when the season starts. This team has been over drafting these kinds of players since Dave showed up and this crew is no exception. Young, Mingo, Johnson and Zavala were all over drafted (factually in hindsight) and this crop looks to be carrying on that tradition. The fact this GM was the assistant and worked very closely with the last makes it a dotted line of logic. We will find out soon but it's so obvious it hurts. -

It will never be physically imposing, for clear reasons. Nothing he can do about that, nothing he should do about that. He needs better coaching, and the weapons need to be better than they were last year. We’ll see if it translates. (if it doesn’t, he won’t get better, and we know how those stories tend to go after 25-30 starts…nature of the biz) The noise doesn’t really matter. Young has the mental make up to work through this, and to me, the goal is LESS “prove he’s a franchise quarterback” in year 2, and MORE “work the plan, harmonize w/ the new WR/TE pieces, incrementally elevate his game.” That’s just how I’d be looking at it, but I understand it can be frustrating. -
