You know how good Fallout 3 is? Yes, this is another Fallout thread...

It is so good, I can spend endless hours just doing general exploring, with no desire to do any quests or anything but actually live in the world and hoard caps and loot...

I believe I am obsessed at this point... It is so bad that I just waste time strolling around in a roving trader outfit and a shady hat, picking off Super Mutants from afar with Lincoln's Repeater... Scavenging and collecting worthless loot, keeping all traders broke as a joke...

Me too. I think I've completed maybe 2 quests in the 30-some hours I've played.

I'm just waiting til I get Brotherhood armor, then I am going to hit save and proceed to annihilate every character in the game. The Family first, then Gob; that guy's a dick.

lmao... I was gonna get my power armor on last night, but couldn't remember that the "Bailey" was another word for "Courtyard"... I had to piss like a racehorse and just powered down for the night...

That Elder Lyons sonofabitch could have just said "He's in the Courtyard," but nooo, he had to get all thesaurus on me...

Maybe my first order of business after I get the training will be to go through the Citadel and murder everyone... starting with Lyons...

I got Fallout 3 GOTY edition for 40 bucks the day it came out lol. Target goofed and had the GOTY (comes with all the DLC) in their add for 40 bucks, when they really meant the regular Fallout 3 release. I took it to best buy and they price matched it lol.

Anyways, I played through the entire Fallout 3 game, then all the DLC's. Needless to say, I burned myself out on Fallout. But it is a great game. Truly what an open world should be. So good you can get completely lost in it, and love every minute of it.

BONUS POST: Also comparing it to Fallout 1/2 is a bit silly IMO. I mean, the games are not only completely different games, but are made by completely different developers. The only thing they really have in common is the name and the universe.

Your opinion...

I think it is the best, most immersive game I have ever played...

Actually I think it's a great game but has a few annoying weaknesses.

Bad AI, acting, and no ability to become a porn star.

But really it is one of the most immersive games I've played since Daggerfall but I got burned out quickly as it is lacking in difficulty (even on PC where I refuse to use VATS) and also something else I just couldn't ever place... something that just seems missing.

Is it bad that I have had the GOTY edition for around 6 or 7 months now, and have yet to go into the Pitt, Operation Anchorage, Mothership Zeta, Point Lookout, or Broken Steel yet?

I traded my original Fallout 3 in for it, and have yet to head into any of the DLC areas...

You're right one is a first person shooter with weak enemies and AI and the other is a masterpiece :P

Please note I do actually like Fallout 3 and see your point. Just being facetious.

SLJ: you must play this game like I did Daggerfall back in the day. There was always so much to go do and see that I never had time to do any of the story stuff. Hell I don't think I ever beat Daggerfall come to think of it.

Sounds like the same stuff I do with Red Dead Redemption. After beating the game, I've now resorted to hogtying innocent people, taking them to the woods, dousing them with bait and waiting for the animals to tear them apart.

Sadly, the animals just wander around aimlessly. I haven't tried it with bears yet though.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
