Who should be the starter Moore or Clausen?

Matt Moore obviously has more pro experience than Clausen, but I think Clausen gives us the best chance to win even as a rookie. Remember some experts picked clausen to be drafted #1 overall. Clausen has all of the right tools around him to quickly develop into an elite NFL quarterback. He has an excellent running game, an excellent offensive line, and a good but unproven receiving corps. Matt Moore has proven he can play, but he sometimes leads our receivers into big hits which result in serious injuries (ex Steve Smith: Broken arm against the Giants in wk 16). Clausen is our future.

Did we get a new coach, ya know, one that plays rookies? And to be honest, I don't know what MM can or can't do. He hasn't played enough to know if he leads players or not, but how many other receivers were hurt last year while Matt was the QB???

No other receivers were hurt, because we ran the ball most of the time.

we would run the ball most of the time regardless of who the QB is.

you don't start a green QB without running the ball well more than you pass unless you want to set him up to fail.

until moore shows that he can't lead the team to wins then you have to give him the chance. he did well enough last year to show he deserves that opportunity.

no sense in rushing clausen in if moore is able to handle the job well for a couple years.

Matt Moore is just a game manager. Jimmy Clausen is a franchise quarterback. We dont need to waste up any more time with Matt Moore. We need to develop Clausen as quickly as possible, so we can make strides for the Superbowl.

    • So funny see people continue to talk like Darnold isn’t one of the best QBs in the NFL for the second season in a row. Two different teams and situations, he is for real and not just a product of the system.   He struggles under pressure lol what QB doesn’t? Did anyone watch Mahomes in the SB?
    • While I was aware that Horn does not shadow WR1 I learned something interesting in the game from one of the announcers ... Horn ALWAYS plays the short side of the field.  As in, he will switch sides when the ball moves from one hash tag to the other. It seems intuitive that short side of field equals easier route coverage (correct me if I'm wrong) and expanding further I wonder if Mike Jackson was put into that role would his stats improve? If Horn is such a shut down corner, why isn't he just following the biggest WR threat around the field? Is there something inherently harder about covering the short side of the field?  Why make life easier for your best CB?
    • I wonder what the true state of Chuba's calf is? I remember it being mentioned a couple of times last year that it was something they were managing then after the Cardinals game last year we put him on IR. He then reinjured it this year. That would seem to explain why he looks slower and less explosive than in years past. Chubas running style was a one cut explode through the hole type of back and it just doesn't look like he has that ability right now.
