Jimmy Clausen Takes the Pride Pill

Recommended Posts

Every player thinks they should be a 1st round pick, its only natural. Jimmy does have a chip on his shoulder as he should. There was a smear campaign put against him that wasnt fair.

He should have learned something from watching Brady Quinn sit in that green room at the draft. Still sitting there while janitorial staff was vacuuming and cleaning up tables around him, waiting to hear his name called.

Claws will be just fine.

How bout this............he sets his ass on the bench and watches MM do his job and learns the PRO GAME. If he works hard and learns the play book and gains the other players respect.....he'll do fine. I could give a poo if his feelings got heart on draft day. Grow up..... and get the fug over it.

don't mind me....... I'm drunk.

I think a lot of people watch ESPN too much... and actually believe half the B.S. that comes out of their reporters' mouths. I do believe Jimmy Clausen was first round talent, and probably should've been picked somewhere around where The Golden Calf of Bristol was picked. I think The Golden Calf of Bristol and Clausen are about equal in talent, but their talents vary. The Golden Calf of Bristol probably has better physical skills, and Clausen can probably throw a cheeseburger 90 yards and be right on target. I think the media bears a lot of weight in the minds of fans, but not so much the NFL. I just think our Front Office does a wonderful job of scouting and doing their homework. Quite a few teams passed on Jonathan Stewart because of his toe injury the season before he entered the NFL... and we all see how that's turning out.

Regardless of what other people say, Clausen is gonna fit right in here with the Carolina Panthers. And I just think he's being a Carolina guy by accepting the fact that he was taken in the 2nd round, and is being paid 2nd round money. This is basically his Steve Smith situation. Everyone said Smitty would just be a return man in the NFL... everyone basically said Clausen can't be an NFL quarterback by passing on him. He'll let his play do the talking, mark my words.

    • Basically agree.  He is the one of that bunch that offers upgraded pass catching along with he is supposed to be kind of special.   Then you have the OL and the ideas that if they perform you can have JAG backs and still do well. So okay we could be fine.  But Brooks is important and to me that receiving element sets him apart.  So there sure is something riding on him.     What strikes me as incongruent is people over in Atlanta or those that follow them look at Penix with a third surgery and act like it is no big deal.      And we are on pins and needles over Brooks.  Either they should worry a lot more or we should worry a lot less.
    • I usually go a game or two optimist over the consensus here but this is too early for me to say. I need to see some players on the field.  I am not feeling real optimistic though.
    • Okay as a ‘take CJ’ fan I actually don’t obsess over CJ and Houston, contrary to the narrative.  But I thought I picked up some noise that his OL left a lot to be desired.    Not a single Beyce supporter would judge him harshly if he had a crappy OL. We all know that.    So be fair about it.  A QB needs to be protected.  Especially a guy that gets to his spot and wants to finish the play from there. Which CJ is.
