Pat White MIA

sparano said there were a few guys nicked up......pat wasnt the only one missing....but i will say this

Pennington was NOT ON the pup list. he was infact out throwing, and from reports looking very good.....imo best 3rd quarterback in the league.

Tyler thigpen is pretty much a better version of pat white. a better passer, and can run almost as good. not quite. but enough to get the job done.

no way the dolphins keep 4 QBs. enless pat moves to WR (you alluded to him saying he wont move) although it was debunked and that was NOT his twitter account. i can see him being traded.

Weird that Sparano said at his PC that they would discuss pat white tomrrow. why a set date? why isnt his agent answering calls? its odd. very odd.

I would be disgusted if we got poo for a guy we used a 2nd round pick on LAST YEAR.

so the waiting game is on.

in other news, brandon marshall was a monster today. the dolphins WILL surprise people this year!

I really think he will be traded like you said Pennington is practicing and Thingpen is a better option. No reason to hold him out unless White wont practice at WR or he is getting traded. Be curious to see where he would go. This is his make or break year either he shows improvement or he better try WR or baseball.

Dont think Miami will get what they paid for him but a 5 or 6 might be possible if White is willing to play WR.

if hes willing to play WR i think we'd keep him. maybe. we have real good slot / #2 type WRs (camarillo, hartline, bess)

not to mention some good no names like ryan grice-mullen and last year 3rd round pick patrick turner.

Pat imo is done with miami, funny thing is everyone got excited recently cause pics surfaced of pat with no sleeves and the dude has been working out hard, hes jacked. maybe in preparing for wr? who knows.

I had heard he spent most of his time in the Facility this offseason watching film and working out. The guy is committed but I hope he doesnt screw his future up by being hard headed. I would like to see him get one more shot at QB this year but next year if he doesnt suceed at QB to make the switch.

hes in a tough situation, no way he gets passed henne. We have brandon marshall, karlos dansby, jake long, pennington, ronnie brown, ricky williams....but guess who is the only player on our teams training camp program?

thats right, chad henne. Pat got into the game last year against the steelers. Him throwing out routes is sad to watch, it didnt come close, and fell way way short. he only averaged 2.8 yards on his wildcat runs. But he was only a rookie, i expect the game to slow down for him like every other player that gets the opportunity, and he will be a very good michael vick type QB with a weaker arm (than vick)

I love pat, hes a great person....amazing story about him being the only player on the dolphins or patriots last year who went and shook every single verterans hand who were on the field for a ceremony before the game. hes all class. and a hard worker like previously stated.

I just hope he gets a fair shot, if not, i hope he succeeds wherever he goes cause i like him.

pat white as a 2nd rounder was stupid at the time, I like Pat but it was a waste of a 2nd rounder lol

He was a project coming out. If the Dolphins could have let him hold the clipboard for the year and not have traded for Thigpen it might have worked. But 4 QB's it not good for him. Always said he needed to sit on the bench for a couple of years. But I still think he can play QB just needs a chance to improve.

He's tiny, if Ike Taylor layed him out what is going to happen when a massive linebacker deals out punishment on a sack.... could get ugly

Pat White's training camp is over, his season in jeopardy.

According to a league source, the Dolphins backup quarterback could miss the entire regular season with a non-football related issue that is described as serious.

At minimum, White will be placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list after sitting out Friday's opening practice of training camp.

The Dolphins will have a chance to reassess White's situation before the season opener on Sept. 12 in Buffalo, but it's possible he will spend the first six weeks of the season on the non-football injury list.

Only paper reporting this. Hope it is nothing serious.

    • I see they blamed Slavin for the goal like I did.
    • See this is the problem, you say "can't get off the line quick" and "can't separate quick" but in reality it's "he can get off the line better and create more separation" which are two completely different things. If he couldn't get off the line or separate, he wouldn't have put up the numbers he did and end up a Top 10 pick. But he can get better, and maybe more accurately, consistent with them both, and that will take his game to the next level.  These are things that are also much easier to improve once you get to the NFL than things like being a poor route runner or having bad hands, two of his strengths. Thinking he can't get open in the short passing game also shows you haven't watched enough tape on him, as he was used in that role so much in college with little issue getting open and making plays. And him not using his physicality as much isn't even something that hurts his game because he's so much more agile than a player of his size should be, which he used to his advantage.  Instead of throwing passes where he'd go up and box out a player like a TE or Mike Evans does, they use his athleticism and put the ball in places that only he can get to it, and he usually does (and yes, he'll still be able to do that against NFL DB's with his catch radius). But now that he's in the NFL, I'd like to see him get stronger and add that to his game because it also will help him take his game to another level. As I've said before, if he doesn't improve on those things at all, I think he's a Top 25 WR in this league, he's already that good.  But I think he'll improve on those things and be a perennial Top 10 WR and in his prime is considered and perform like Top 5 guy in some years. My expectations for him this year at 800 yards and 8 TDs (although I do think he'll get to 10 TDs) with a real chance at getting to 1,000.  But those expectations are because I think Thielen will lead the team in yards with close to 1k and XL/Coker each end up in the 500-600 range themselves, just too many mouths to feed this year for a rookie to dominate yardage, especially if we're running the ball well again. But if Thielen can't stay healthy or puts up sub 750 yards, then yea, my expectations for T-Mac likely shift to getting to 1k as a rookie.
    • Svech only 1 goal behind the guy they've pretty much already given the Conn Smythe to...
