Another FanFest Thread... From Someone Not There

Nope, wasn't there. But, as a tribute to all the "observation," "impression," "thoughts," etc. threads showing up, thought I needed to provide my perspective-

It was hot, the scrimmage didn't matter because it's all scripted, it stayed hot, people with PSL or who purchased tickets always come in and sit in their seats, there is absolutely no reason to sit in that heat to watch an hour of stuff, and it was still hot when they finished.

It's free so for some people it's their only chance to see the cats live....

I want to see Steve Smith play at least once before he retires... hopefully I can afford some tickets to watch next season.

If we start 0-3 or so all you have to do is head to the stadium on gameday. Scalpers have such a hard time selling tickets that they throw them in the bushes as they leave....

The things I'd do just to watch Steve Smith play (no sexual favors)... The real problem is getting down there (I live real close to the Virginia line - above Greensboro).

We're in Martinsville, VA and are through your neck o' the woods by 7:30AM or so on game day... usually in Charlotte by 9AM or so with Bloody Mary in hand by 9:30... all you have to do is holla....

    • Damn I liked A'Shawn too. This is basically a heads up we're planning on cutting you move.  Robinson wasn't the best but I loved his attitude and effort on the field. He held that entire dline together when Brown went down iirc..granted we finished that season as the worst rushing defense in modern NFL history.  If Wharton would have performed up to atleast half of his salary last season, I'd feel a little better about it. We do need that cap space though.
    • 13. Carolina is coming. The Panthers are well thought of around the league. Their "process" seems sound. I think their off-season will be very interesting to keep an eye on. They made the playoffs, but they're not yet knocking on the door. (Offense was 26th in EPA/play.) I think it's imperative they don't overestimate where they are in their build. They can't throw a ton of money around in FA to "make a run now". They need to be intentional about building a solid foundation. (IMO) And from what I know about the team... I think they will be. Sidenote: I have my eye on offense there, not defense. They HAVE to leave next season with a strong opinion on Bryce Young. They need to put pieces around him to do that. Can't be left wondering what he would have looked like with "better OL play" or "more pass catchers". They have to know. (That part is purely my opinion. No one told me that.) https://x.com/lindsay_rhodes/status/2027212533417869499?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA
    • Because this DL is completely reliant on Brown being available and being a stud. Without him we were the worst D in history. The Wharton signing last year reeked of desperation. He just isn't a great fit for us schematically and I think we panicked a little bit when we missed out on Milton Williams who would have been a great fit.
