What is the pedigree all about?

Honestly though it really doesnt' mean anything.

What they are saying is that Clausen has the "genetic" background of a good QB. Moore does not. It is really just some bs people say when they don't know anything about the QB position but think one guy is better than another.

Can someone please explain to me what they mean when they say Jimmy has pedigree and Matt doesn't? I really don't know what that means. Someone please enlighten me

Clausen comes from a big football family of QBs. He had a big name QB coach working with him from a very young age. Everything about his life has been about getting him to where he is today......he probably had a lot of coaching/aid that the majority of guys playing never saw.

Matt Moore simply wins NFL games. He probably eats broken glass for breakfast.

Pretty sure Moore had all those same things just didn't hype it up...Great QB coach when he was younger, played in NFL style offense in college for one of the best coaches in the game, and has the genetics I guess although no one has tested his DNA...

I bet he is an IAMS man

It basically means that whoever said it cannot find any reason why Clausen should start over Moore so they just made up something and are trying desperately to inject some sort of merit into it by using an unproven yet seemingly valid-sounding term that many will accept because it 'sounds' so insanely ridiculous that it must be true and the average joe just does not get it.

It's also a term that spreads like wildfire from one dumbass to the next.

Ignore it and immediately cease contact with the ignorant fools you heard it from lest you be more like them.

    • There's only two paths to that happening. First is that Theilen misses a significant chunk of the season, the other is that XL and Coker both either flop or have injuries themselves. I love the pickup of Renfrow as I think he'll be great in the locker/film room for all the young guys while giving us a natural replacement of Thielen in the WR room next year to be the wiley old vet in the room. But he has almost no path to getting snaps this year unless the guys ahead of him have injuries or just suck.  Assuming he makes he squad, he's more likely to be inactive more often than he's active on game days.   And he's not the best route runner on the team, that's still Thielen, who even at this point in his career is still one of the better route runners in the league.
    • I'll go ahead and say it because the average poster is too scared to say it.  Hunter Renfrow is the best route runner on the team.  He will catch more balls than a couple of those dudes added together.  It's Short King season!   Get on the wagon while there are still seats available!
    • But that's the WR4 this year, we only have one year left of Thielen. If Coker has injury issues and/or regresses and shows why he went undrafted, unless Horn ends up REALLY living up to the minicamp hype, we'd actually end up in need of another good WR option next offseason again. I love the potential of T-Mac, XL, Coker, Horn as our 1-4 next year and into the future. And while I of course have a million percent belief that T-Mac is going to be that guy for us, it's still a big year for the rest of the WR room to prove we're set at the position for the foreseeable future once Thielen is gone after the season.
