You can make the same arguement for EVERY starter on EVERY team. Preseason is used to get the team ready for the regular season.

Yes....he should play if physically ready.

I agree. Smith isn't some delicate flower that will blow away in the breeze. He's a football, if he's healthy play him like every other starter.
