Why draft AE as a project?

Not exaggerating at all. LSU is one of my favorite teams and I have watched almost every game he played in. My point of view isn't shared by everyone but it is shared by a lot of LSU fans. I have actually repeated to myself in game time situations; don't throw it to LaFell...don't throw it to LaFell...don't throw it to LaFell... Followed much to often by F**K!! *anouncer* aww LaFell had his hands on it. *anouncer*

I very very very much hope that i am wrong. If he really works for it and learns to catch and be a clutch player I will make the most exuberant apology the huddle has ever had the pleasure of hosting. But I stand on my statement that it was foolish to draft him when we are so desperate for a reliable playmaker to play opposite #89. Based on his body of work at that point he wasn't the right pick.

I agree we needed a proven WR

The homers like Armanti Edwards because he played 1-AA ball at Appalachian ST. They dont realize that a guy like Ford, who played WR and return man in a BCS Division 1 conference, is better then a guy who played against below average competition. He was their hero when APP ST beat Michigan, and now they're blind.

He's definitely a project, at the positions the Panthers picked him to play... For instance, Houston Texans worked him out as punt return/ko return... The Panthers, Rams, Broncos and a few other worked him as receiver and also caught a couple punts ... Teams like Jacksonville and New England worked him as QB.

Every team had him marked at certain areas of their own draft, depending on what position they would want him playing. I've heard Belicheck really liked him, but wasn't going to pull the trigger on a wild cat qb until later in the draft.
