Sports Network Write-up

Shitty article. They are still beating the drum that no one was added to make up for the loss of Peppers. This article was written just 2 days ago...so, the author must not have watched any of the Panthers Defensive performances in preseason.

Another fluff piece by somone who knows nothing about this team.

Maybe the writer's just not so quick to declare our defense "fixed" based on 3 pre-season performances.....

But, he is quick to call it broken because an inconsistent player left....it works both ways.

And, he did not mention the agressive play and results once. Would have respected tha article more if he had mentioned it, and then said that they would need to take that level of play into the regular season. He didn't. The article sounds like a regurgitation of preseason articles from months ago.

Nothing new.

from game to game peppers was inconsistent.

most of his 10 sacks would come from just a few games where he would get 2 or 3 sacks. the rest of the time....meh.

Agreed.

I watched parts of the Chicago game yesterday on NFLN. I found myself laughin gout loud watching Peppers. He had a couple of good plays. However, there was play after play after play where he made one move and then stopped. He just stood there watching the play. It was like old times.

Contrast that with the way our DLine is agressively after EVERY play. Peppers will not be missed. Glad to see his underperfroming $20 million ass in another uniform.

for someone that hasn't watched the panthers this preseason. the defense deserves a lot more optimism than what that article has shown.

the offense...not so much.

I mean, I agree that the D has looked better than expected and I hope that the performance carries over, but you can't blame any writer for refusing to put stock in the preseason. Chris Johnson had 10 yards on 8 carries - does that mean he's going to average fewer than 1 yard per carry in the regular season? Bottom line is our team is "unproven" until the season starts and it can be proven otherwise.

    • One thing about it, he's not thinking about retiring. I found it odd that some Huddlers were taking rumors and running with them, imagining a slow down and "up-playing" injuries. Moton feels great and is still in his prime according to him, and his game is still indicative of his thoughts.  Sure, it may ultimately come down to economics, but I am sure that everyone involved is motivated to keep him in Charlotte.
    • I think the knee stuff with Moton has been blown way out of proportion. The exact quote was “It’s chronic stuff. Most linemen deal with it. But it’s just figuring out what we can do to make sure it’s limited and I’m still able to explode off it, which right now I can and I feel like I can in the future,” After a while, you start learning more about it and what can we do to make sure it’s as little of an issue as possible. I feel like I’m moving like I was when I was younger.” I don't view that as a guy who's saying his knees are on their last leg I see that as a 10-year NFL olineman saying that obviously after 10 years of playing a really physical sport, he's never truly gonna be 100% healthy again and he's gonna need to spend more time with the training staff to ensure his body can continue to perform at a high level. I think Moton has another 3 to 5 years left if he wants to continue playing.
    • So much crying. Tiresome. All of you should have had enough time to come to terms with the team picking up his 5th year...
