they did a big study here about cigarettes and birds etc and the city decided to step up littering offences....it got quite crazy!

there was also a story from last year where cars were sitting at a red light and someone opened their door and dumped their ashtray onto the street and someone from a nearby car saw it, went over and picked up a handfull and threw it in the window!!!!

The letter my buddy got from either the DOT or DMV said that if a cop saw his littering, and it wasn't just a civilian, then the fine could've been over $1,000.

Why is it so hard for people to throw away their trash? There is usually somewhere to throw crap away within 10ft of where it is littered. If you're driving; just leave it in your car until you stop. Easy.
