List of 2011 free agent wide receivers

Too soon to be looking toward the next offseason? Nah.

It's obvious Smitty needs some help. Whether that comes from the draft (AJ Green, Julio Jones) or free agency, it doesn't matter to me.

Here is a list of potential free agents for next year:

Assuming we actually spend money next offseason (a big assumption, I know), who on that list would you like to see the Panthers target? Who do you think would be the best fit here?

It's amazing how some people on this board, don't think Steve Smith ages!!! haha For crying out loud, he's been loosing a step each year. After next years possible lockout, you're telling me that we'll finally have help for Steve? Come on!

Secondly, this front office can't draft a wide receiver to save their life! We suck at it!!!

I believe a lot of it has to do with drafting guys that don't have the heart! Look at Smith! The guy isn't the tallest guy, he doesn't run the best routes, but he wants the DAMN ball! He goes after it! He has passion! Desire! The guy is a winner, even when we loose...

I hope we go after a free agent that some other coach taught how to play in the NFL! Fox and his gang have no clue.

    • Having trouble finding all these articles saying the Raiders withheld information. Here’s the latest from Crosby’s surgeon: ElAttrache told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Wednesday morning that Crosby was "doing very well in the early part of his rehab and recovery from surgery to treat a significant meniscus tear and the related stress injury to the bone and cartilage in his knee. He is certainly on track in his planned program." "We truly respect the work of the Ravens' staff with Maxx regarding the contract physical exam. We also understand the challenge the staff faces when tasked to provide a future risk assessment based on an evaluation early in the recovery process," ElAttrache said. "This is especially challenging when dealing with an elite player like Maxx considering the level of commitment necessary for a team to obtain him. The timing of this assessment is unfortunate because the apparent risk will lessen as his recovery progresses and his return to performance over the next few months becomes clear."     So the Ravens excuse is the future risk assessment based on the physical, not that the Raiders withheld information. They found an excuse to save face publicly. They had the right to cancel the trade for no reason at all, but they’re trying to save face with the most acceptable reasoning they can find. I’ve heard and seen the Ravens getting dragged everywhere for this. You know what would be an easy way to put a stop to that if you’re the Ravens and the Raiders were actually the shady ones withholding information? Just come out and say that you were not given all the medical information. But they aren’t saying that. I guess they’re just taking the bullet for the Raiders just because?    Speculation indeed.
    • Two first round picks for a guy with very questionable knees who will be 29 this summer. Yes it is safe to say the Ravens got cold feet.
    • The salary cap is the reason we got Phillips and Lloyd
