This is what happens when your O-line gets bitch slapped by da raidaaas.

McNeill should send Oakland a Thank You card.

Wrong, Mcneil signed his FT contract 3 weeks ago, and his availability for their next game has no bearing on last weeks performance.

As a holdout, McNeill was placed on the team's "Did Not Report" list for training camp, allowing the Chargers to receive a roster exemption for his spot.

why didnt they just do that in the first place? trying to make a point by not having your best lineman on the field for 5 weeks and being 2-3? stupid.

AJ Smith, while being very good at what he does also has a tremendous ego.

See battles between Schottenheimer, Tomlinson et al carried out in the press for evidence.

Who says that they would have done it this year without the holdout? They could have just let him play out his one year tender, and slap the franchise tag on him next season (2012 if a lockout), and continued on.

P.S. MM may not be the best lineman on that team either, although he has been very very good.

    • Apparently CSW lost his starting job to Thornton last year. If he can stay healthy I bet Thornton keeps that NB position.
    • I member him staying after practices with only to see he was wearing heavy weight vest, one of his trademarks. He also put in 10 years, right? People forget he was the ST stud that called the snap and made sure everyone lined up right. He was one of the "glue" guys that bought his "lunch pail" to work.... He was a willing solider, all teams need a couple of them. He blocked for sooo many panthers RBs- Davis, lane, Williams, foster, goings and when there was huge injuries he took over the starter duties and had a couple 100 yard games. If you followed hoover, he took the perfect RB path cause he was just a slow heavy one himself....
    • Walker likely depends on a couple of things. What exactly did Dan promise him, to start with.  How much other interest he actually had for a starter job at high pay is another question. It isn’t outside the realm of possibility that he could stay on as a swing tackle waiting to take Moton’s spot when it opens.    I can’t get myself to consider Icky as a viable anything until we see him back on the field.     Hunt seems to be a team player and good guy but I don’t think he is worth what he is being paid. I have him tentatively earmarked for cap causality in the near future.
