Jerry Richardson's failures are actually making me sympathetic towards Fox

Fox in my opinion should've been fired after the playoff meltdown in '08 because there was no indication the team was good enough to repeat that kind of success the next year and the unit looked prime for a slump if it was retained (and it was, and it did slump) and the only reason anybody ever came up for defending fox was that you shouldn't fire him because we went 12-4 and you don't fire your coach after going 12-4 because it's 12-4 and you don't do that when you finish 12-4 because you do what you do and that's when you keep him is when that happens because 12-4 is 12-4 and it's so perfect!!!!11!!!1!!!one1!!!

and you NEVER EVER fire the best coach your team has ever had especially since he took your team to the superbowl once upon a time. didn't win but getting there is just as good, right?

Yep, and we could have went after Todd Haley, Steve Spagnolo, Josh McDaniels, Jim Schwartz.....

I've hated John Fox's coaching style for years and have wanted him fired since 2007. However, having such a failure of an owner in charge like Fox has now is actually making me feel sympathetic towards him in the first time in years.

When Richardson fires Fox at the end of the season or decides to just let his contract expire, he WILL finally have to face the media. Every owner ever introduces the new coach. Now, even though Fox DOES deserve to be fired because of his past coaching sins, what is Richardson going to get up there and say about his decision to let Fox go this year? Say what you will about John Fox, but he's NOT a 2-14/3-13/0-16 caliber of a head coach. When we finish the season with the worst record in the league, is Richardson going to look those cameras and those reporters in the eye and make another statement akin to the "life has been sucked out of this organization" statement that everyone loves to quote from the Seifert firing? How can he do that in good conscience when it was HIS fault that we were so bad and not John Fox's?
