Now signing receiver after receiver without fixin the qb and offensive lines terrible play?also havin a great running back/s to try and save us each game? Are we doomed to years of bad to mediocre seasons?are we throwing young qb's to the wolves only to have them fail?Could we be this bad for 40yrs and still be loyal?I just want to win plz fiz this mess jr!

We don't have a loyal fan base period. Until we win consistently or win a Super Bowl we won't either

there are 31 other teams in the league go support them instead

Wow, what a sad first post. If you really are a Panthers fan, you would be supportive of other Panthers fans...even if you disagree with them.

Maybe you are not new to the board & this is just a new profile, b/c there's a lot of vitriol in that post?!

Hey Scat,

Different story. The Panthers 'thought' they had their quality QB in Delhomme until they released him during 'this' off-season. Our OL was rated as 1 of the top OLs in the league last season. We have always struggled filling the #2 WR position since Mooose left for Chicago.

The Panthers 'will' pull it together again next year or the year after. Jerry Richardson is not Masochistic.

He has some evil genius plan, but it's frustrating when the rest of us cannot understand it. Remember, he sits on the powerful committees of the NFL, so he has a good idea of what will happen with the NFL contract negotiations coming up. Hold tight during the ride, but right now...it sucks! :yesnod:

Receiver after receiver?

They have rookies and guys released from other teams. They haven't put any real money into receiver.

Quarterback?

They've got a project qb and will surely find a new one or at least a veteran if he doesn't work out.

Line?

As many said the O-Line isn't bad they just can't block 9 guys.

This team has an incredibly green passing game that is screwing everything up. I've said time and again if they abandoned the stubborn does-not-work gameplan they have attempted to use every week this season they can have more success with this team. Shift to lots of high percentage throws to running backs and shallow receivers. No more run, run, shotgun spread giveaway formation on third and 10.

For 1...why you have an "ain't" helmet as a logo.

Lost a bet.

For your second post: I never claimed I knew how the negotiations were going. Look at the part of your post I quoted and exactly what you wrote. Then you'll see that it isn't difficult to understand that JR has the team where it is because of future monetary gain.

    • Ok--I have seen some sample items, and I would like to see something (if possible) measures on field intelligence--maybe how quickly you can grasp a playbook or absorb film session adjustments...Back when we had Morrison as team president and Hurney as GM, I offered to assess (as part of my research in education requirement at a University) emotional intelligence and learning styles of players to help coaches teach more effectively.  Morrison loved it and contacted me about it.  Hurney was not interested, and it fell through the cracks.  My pitch?  If only 50% of first-rounders become successful NFL players and that number drops significantly, can you tell me that you are effectively measuring talent?  Morrison thought it was a good point and wanted to do something that might improve long-term success rates--that would impact the cap management, etc.  Marty, according to Morrison, said he was not interested at this time and if so, he would want a football guy to do it.  (I told Morrison that I played in college and Hurney, a sports reporter at one time, did not. (He told me that Hurney played as a Guard in college--who knew?) Any way, about that time, Morrison left (2017) and the idea was dropped.  I reached back out a year later or so to Marty was still not interested.  A few days later, his wife accused him of assault or something, so I dropped it.
    • Pretty sure they still do the Wonderlic they just don't publicly release the scores.
    • I just thought he was under the radar--but thanks for opening our eyes to him.  I think we should have better measures for intelligence--such as reaction time, angles, etc. Legette is raw as heck, for example, and his RAS was very high.  We used to do the Wonderlic (which was not great) but to know how effectively a player makes on field decisions would be great.
