i wouldn't really buy into the numbers too much, our offense doesn't stay on the field very long. Now if our offense was producing and they still had those numbers then it would be a different story. Right now we are almost never in a game and teams are running the ball down our throat. If the games were more competitive teams would be throwing more on us but fact is we suck big time.

On the whole our LB play has been excellent, will be interesting to see how they reshuffle things when/if Davis comes back into the fold.

I think if you look at the defensive stats for most teams, you'll probably find linebackers are the leading tacklers.

Defensive backs tend to be next. That's not necessarily bad, though you don't really want secondary guys as your leading tacklers because it usually means opposing players are making it to the second and third level more often than you'd like.

If you look at the tackle stats on NFL.com, it's not until you get down into the fifties that you start seeing defensive linemen.

Yup, the DL's job is to occupy blockers so the LB's can make tackles. When a DB is your leading tackler = problem.

Our LB's have allot of tackles because they've been on the feild much more often then they should be. I believe we were giving up somewhere around 10 mins in time of posession going into the 49ers game?

Bottom line, our LB's have played well.

Defensive tackles rarely have more than 30-40 tackles in a season. To have three LB's making as many tackles as yours have tells me you have great linebackers! You don't want to see high tackle numbers from DB's unless you are bringing a safety up into the box frequently ...

I would kill to have your linebacking corp in St. Louis. It would make us a top 10 defense ....

Yes, their high tackle numbers are a function of the D-line letting a lot through, but you don't need to look at the stats to see that our LB's have been doing extremely well. Just watch the games.

Not sure about that, as long as they are keeping the offensive lineman off the LB's, they are doing good enough.
