How do we clinch a playoff birth this weekend?

i "think" its win + either an atl or cowgirls loss. need all but 1 8-5 nfc wildcard team to loose really and win ourselves (i know that much). we cant clinch the di unless we win, get a bucs loss, and likely need to win huge for points reasons. even then i think both the bucs and atl could still win the division.

win 2 and the bucs loose 1 and we get the division as well (if bucs win out we loose 1, idk the tiebreakers). win 3 and we get homefield.

I don't have the official list, but looking at the standings...

We're in with a win and a loss by two out of three following teams: Dallas, Philly, and Atlanta.

Because we are undefeated against the AFC, we don't hold any tiebreakers (our conference record would be worse, since they would have more NFC wins).

philly can win out and tie in the win department, we get 1 win, they cant pass us. only teams that can tie if we win 1 are dallas, and atl. so i still am going with them atm. after that idk tirbreakers on seeding. pure W-L record though that i think does it.

makes an intresting choice, go bucs or atl this weekend????

I believe if we beat the Broncos we get the division. Because TB and Atl have lost to them.

That isn't even close to being correct. An AFC win means very little to us, and if anything, the fact that we would be 4-0 against the AFC would hurt our chances in tiebreaker situations.

Even if Atlanta beats Tampa Bay and we win, we could all finish 11-5. Since we would all have three losses in the NFC South in that scenario, the next tiebreaker is conference record. Since our conference record would be the worst it could possibly be with an 11-5 record (7-5), we would lose the tiebreakers.

We can clinch the division in two weeks, but not this week.

i think in theory we can clinch homefield in 2 weeks as well (not counting on that one). if NY looses the next 2 we get #1 in the NFC. now i doubt that happens, but......

win next week is paramount

dallas has the giants, bucs and falcons go head to head. if we win, no matter what these games are good outcomes. the key matchups for not just us but the who playoff structure is these 3 weeks (14-16). most teams have a gimme in 17, atleast atl and the bucs. nyg have a testy one with the vikes, dallas with philly (but might not matter at this point).

    • When Parcell’s said Bryce better “walk on water”…..the implied concern wasn’t that the tiny QB could survive being hit.  It was acknowledging he would have to be extremely special to overcome the handicaps he would face at this level.  Which he isn’t and can’t.  which isn’t just being hit.  It’s being able to play in an NFL pocket and make NFL throws from it….and that ultimately is Bryce’s problem.  He doesn’t play well from a NFL pocket and can’t make all the throws as needed.  He can’t see as others can.  Which impacts the throws he does and doesn’t take.  It also impacts him bailing and killing plays and turning them into scrambles/dead plays
    • 9:30 kick off here in Scotland, which is better than the 01:20 early hours of Monday that I feared. Will definitely be watching, but probably wouldn't if it had been 0120 as I need to be up for work at 05:45. Falcons Saints is 6pm on the Sunday so will watch that too if it becomes relevant
    • So much revisionist history around the pre-draft Bryce hype. The media was practically united in saying that if he were a couple inches taller he'd be the perfect prospect and it was just a question of whether he'd hold up in the NFL being that small. The Panthers did not create the mythos around him they were just the team that bought in. The team was largely praised for the move after and for surrounding him with what was considered an all-star coaching staff at the time.  Yeah part of the fanbase wanted Stroud but let's be real, we're coming from an oversized franchise QB who injured himself out the league. There was some analysis here on the limitations of Bryce's game but people were mostly just concerned he was going to turn into dust when he got sacked in the NFL.
