Vikings Player: "We're playing for us, and we're winning despite him (Childress)."

The latest story comes from Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times, who has written about the Vikings for the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Jensen quotes multiple players as ripping into Childress, even after the win over the Cardinals.

"We know that Childress doesn't have our backs, so why should we have his?" one player said. "We're playing for us, and we're winning despite him."

Another team source told Jensen, "He has absolutely no people skills." And a player said that Childress' decision to publicly criticize Brett Favre at a postgame press conference enraged some in the locker room. "For a lot of guys, that was a turning point," one player said.

Basically, the Vikings are playing for themselves, and not for their coach.

"As much as I hate Childress," another player told Jensen, "I will keep playing."

    • Btw... only Mitch fugging Marner has a better +/- than Key 🔑!!! And, Mitchy needed 5 more games and almost 100 more shifts to get there.
    • I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.
    • Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
