Need help plz--problems with PS3 and madden

Okay, so I've got Madden 11 on the PS3 and everything has worked fine but yesterday out of the blue, the PS3 wouldn't read the disc. tried everything, turning consol off, washing disc, putting in another disc (which worked for that disc). Any ideas how to get the PS3 to read madden?

Maybe its your PS3 telling you that Madden is going to suck so buy a more worthy game.

Didn't your mother ever tell you about washing your disc?

My old PS2 had this kind of issue. As far as I could tell it was related to the laser. It would read some disc's fine, but other it wouldn't read at all. It kept getting worse and worse over time, until eventually all it would read was music CD's. It had some other issues going on as well, but my roomate in college thought he could fix it so I sold it to him for $100 bucks.

I haven't heard of very many PS3's with disc read errors though, so thats good.

Try few more disks. A year ago it started like that for me. It would work ON and OFF and then it stopped working. It's that little blu ray laser or whatever that goes bad. You'll have to send it in and hope that you have a warranty to cover the bill

check the serial number. if its a CECHA01 its a launch ps3. Mine had this same problem and I was out of warranty so i tried to fix it myself, with marginal results. You can replace the blu-ray lens or entire blu ray drive for less than the 150 that Sony would charge you out of warranty. youtube a tutorial. good luck.

Is it a 20GB 60GB or 80 GB with 4 USB slots in the front? If so put a Blu-ray movie in it and see what happens.
