100 Worst Players in NFL History

The NFL Network recently compiled a list of the 100 best players in NFL history, as selected by a blue-ribbon panel. This is not that list.

63. Rae Carruth; wide receiver; Panthers; 1997-99: Carolina's 23rd all-time leading receiver ran dreadful routes when he wasn't allegedly hiring a hitman to kill his girlfriend.

59. Chris Weinke; quarterback; Panthers, 49ers; 2001-07: Started 15 games as a 29-year-old rookie and reminded many of another Heisman winner — the immortal Gino Torretta. Started only four more games before his retirement after '07.

53. Curtis DeLoatch; cornerback; Giants, Saints, Panthers; 2004-07: Save for covering and tackling, awfully good.

25. Rashard Anderson; cornerback; Panthers; 2000-01: Made Deion Sanders look physical. An indefensible first-round blunder.

And just for laughs, this guy made the list, too. And I was at this game.

51. Kenyatta Walker; offensive tackle; Buccaneers; 2001-06: Once, while facing Julius Peppers, had three false starts called on the same down.

Walker was a huge bust and a below average RT, but no where near one of the 100 worst players ever. He was an ok RT during his peak.

In all seriousness, was Anderson that bad? I couldn't watch much during those years and didn't really see him play.

Trust me on this- after Walker got called on 3 consecutive false starts he only became further agitated and actually, towards the end of that game, went after Peppers and tried to start a fight with him. Walker ended up getting benched and it was one of the biggest player meltdowns I've ever seen on a football field.

In all seriousness, was Anderson that bad? I couldn't watch much during those years and didn't really see him play.

The comparison to Sanders wasn't that far off. Anderson would lose coverage on a receiver and would stand and watch as a safety or someone else made the tackle.

yeah i was at that game too. after the 2nd one.. i was just staring at him the whole time and you could tell he was going to do it again. Peppers owned walker so hard for like 4 years.

where the hell is Matt Willig?

While he may be in the Top 100 ugliest MFs ever to play, he did lead the way for DeShaun Foster's rushing TD in the playoff game against the Eagles...

That's the one I still watch on DVD when things get tough. Not because I had a man-crush on Foster, quite the contrary, I can most liken him to Dwayne Jarrett- all the potential, just never quite got there.

But that one run epitomizes guts, determination, will and heart more than a few gazillion football plays I've seen in my many years. And Willig was out in front of it... until Foster went by him. To this day when I watch that play I get a chill and my eyes well up just a bit. Ranks right up there with the X-Clown Steve Smith 2-OT victory catch over the Rams.

I can't say it gets me as emotional as you do, but it is very motivational.
