100 Worst Players in NFL History

Smitty>Moose>Proehl.

I can agree with the top 3, but Proehl was a STL guy. We as a fanbase can't claim him, even if he may have been a key part, if not the reason we made the SB that year.

Keyshawn.......ehhhh. Keyshawn isn't even a HOF in my book with Dallas, and he was just ok here. Keyshawn wasn't just over the hill, he was working his way up another one by the time he got here, and we can't claim him either.

Carruth by all accounts was on his way to stardome here, which is why he is at least top 5 considering a guy named Mark Carrier is top 4 on your list

And one more thing....Who the hell is Mark Carrier? Sorry...I'm not 78 years old..

Mark Carrier was on the team at the same time as Rae Carruth.

How does one determine who we can claim? IMO, we can claim anyone who wore the uniform.

Carruth had a decent rookie year, got injured his second year, and didn't do much his third year, except of course have his pregnant girlfriend whacked. There is nothing to indicate he was on his way to stardom. Might have been a adequate receiver, but in truth I seriously doubt he would ever have gotten his head together enough to become a star.

I never watched him (or Mark Carrier for that matter) but from everything I've heard we had a ton of talent. The only Panther WRS that are/have been/ would have been clearly better than him are Smitty, Moose, and Proehl. So he is 4th on my personal list. Hopefully he moves down as time goes on though..

lol skip to about 1:38. I thought of this when someone mentioned Carruth the first time

Huh? Keyshawn was probably the best #2 this team has had behind Moose. Have you ever really looked at what he accomplished here in one season?

* During his career he averaged 74 catches per year. In Carolina he had 70.

* Averaged 961 yards per year. In Carolina he had 815.

* Averaged 13 yards per catch. In Carolina 11.6.

* Averaged 6 TDs per year. In Carolina he had 4.

Moose averaged 61 catches per season and had more than Keyshawn's average of 70 three times, the last being in 2004 when he took over as the #1 when Smith went on the IR. The other 2 seasons were before Steve Smith was drafted.

So, routinely, Keyshawn had better numbers as the #2 than Moose did. But because Moose spent all his years in Carolina, with a short trip to Chicago thrown in, he gets the nod.

Keyshawn Johnson came here after 10 years in the league and simply put up the same numbers he had his entire career. So, no, he wasn't "over the hill" or anything else, his level of performance was exactly as it had been for the 10 seasons prior.

By the way, Carruth isn't even Top 10 on the all-time Panther receiving list... guys like Donald Hayes, Rocket Ismail and Nick Goings have more receptions than Carruth.

Beast in college. Not sure what happened in the Pros.

87. Michael Booker; cornerback; Falcons, Titans; 1997-2001: Atlanta used the 11th pick in the 1997 draft on Booker, then learned that he didn't really care for professional football. Started only 10 games as a pro before retiring with casual indifference.

Sorry, but he wasn't a bad football player. He was/is a bad person which affected his football playing. He is still the greatest college RB I've ever seen.

69. Lawrence Phillips; running back; Rams, Dolphins, 49ers; 1996-99: Mostly remembered for his myriad legal incidents, Phillips also happened to be a junk halfback. Never averaged more than 3.5 yards per carry in a disastrous career that made Dick Vermeil cry (more than once).
