Game 13: Suns vs. Bobcats

Bobcats are now 3 games back of .500. The entire season is still in front of us. Everybody knows Coach Brown is gonna pull the trigger at some point. The Bobcats can still make some noise this season. The way we played the Heat last night, not laying down like bitches and taking it to the wire. Bashing the Suns in at home tonight on a back to back by 20+, the Mighty Bobcats look like they're waking up.

Jackson has Bobcats first triple double

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP)—Stephen Jackson had 24 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for the first triple-double in franchise history for the Charlotte Bobcats, who took advantage of Steve Nash’s absence to beat the listless Phoenix Suns 123-105 on Saturday night.

It was the second career triple-double for Jackson, whose first also came against the Suns when he was with Golden State in the 2008-09 season. He hit 10-of-13 shots and led an efficient night for the Bobcats, who also got 26 points from Boris Diaw while shooting 58 percent from the field.

Tyrus Thomas added 22 points for Charlotte, which was met with little resistance by the Suns in transition and inside, scoring 64 points in the paint.

A night after a disappointing loss in Miami that saw Gerald Wallace foul out and then get ejected, Charlotte again got little early from its second-leading scorer, thanks to more foul trouble.

But Wallace scored 10 points in the fourth quarter while Jackson gave the 7-year-old Bobcats a milestone.

Coach Larry Brown had told Jackson in the exit interviews at the end of last season he thought triple-doubles could become a routine for the swingman, and he showed his all-around game as Brown tweaked his lineup.

Jackson, who also had two steals, two blocks and four turnovers, last had a triple-double Feb. 4, 2009.

Notes: It was Brown’s 1,323rd professional win, leaving him 13 shy of passing Don Nelson for the most all-time in the NBA and ABA. … Bobcats owner Michael Jordan wasn’t in his courtside seat for the first time this season. … The schedule allowed for (Phoenix Suns Coach Alvin) Gentry to visit his hometown of Shelby, N.C., on Friday, where he loaded up on barbecue, sweet tea and other Southern fare.

If I see Jack, I may have to hit him with his own style haymaker for this...

I dropped that mf'er from my fantasy team last week and was waiting to pick him back up if he picked his play up.

Well, I needed a SF b/c Brandon Roy is my only other player capable of playing SF and he's turned out to be a bust this year b/c of injury. So, I go to pick Jack back up and my boy already picked him up. I'm so pissed about this lol...

No one ever said Jax doesn't have insane talent. I think he has a lot of mental lapses, maybe lose of confidence sometimes, but when he's on, he's ON. Hope our team turned a corner.

Also, how about DJ?

6-10, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 16 points, and most importantly ZERO turnovers. I think DJ is going to be just fine.

And Tyrus is proving everyone who was excited to get him right (most of us).

Jax also had 2 steals and 2 blocks.

    • After seeing hits in the last two UDFA pools, I do not in this group sorta of a let down after I gassed myself up.  Not like I know of their games, but just expected more. The duke DT only has to beat out hunte (2025 UDFA) or Ray (DL coach's kid) or even Cam Jackson mid 2025 5th.  I thought they would bring in more edges, IOL, TEs, etc...
    • My 2 favorite picks, since you didn't ask? 3. Brazzell II.  A 1000 yard WR with 4.37 speed and checks all the boxes for a Z Wide Receiver.  IN THE THIRD ROUND!!! 5.  Sam Hecht.  I think he will take over as the starter at some point this season and never look back.  IN THE FIFTH ROUND. Runner Up:  2. Hunter:  We were targeting a DT early in this draft because we did very little to replace Robinson in free agency.  Hunter was our guy and he will start. In addition to that, you got a starting tackle that should man one side of the new OL we will build for Bryce's second contract. A starting WR, offensive lineman, defensive lineman and possible Offensive tackle (at some point during this year from this draft will start.  UNREAL. In addition, I don't doubt that Wheatley (5th round) takes the FS job by next year and Lee III is Jackson's replacement in 2027.   Finally, even Kuwatch should be a special teams demon and LB depth.   Last year's draft was so good it was ugly.  This one will turn out to be uglier.  No offense Basbear--this ain't about you.
