Anyone know anything about unemployment?

I know they are not voting in extensions right now, but my question is, is this for added extensions, or any extensions?

I'm only on my 1st extension, and I know there's a few more, but my question is, does this mean I'm not eligible for another or there isn't any more past a certain point?

Appreciate all help.

You seem to be one of the few.

I "think" I found information, basically saying I'm screwed till the politicians agree. Apparently democrats may use the "extending Bush's tax cuts" as a bargaining chip.

Of course I'm sure they are all on vacation for weeks right now anyway.

wife has been out of work since Aug 09. i dont think the extension passed. you can view that two ways. that its horrific and there will be chaos OR, word is going around that folks are now ready to hire.

wife had an interview a couple of days ago and it looks good.

the challenge we faced was she would get offers but for part time. so it never would cover the UE we were getting. Financially it made no sense to take PT work.

thats a trap many are in right now. not the stupid notion they dont want to work, although im sure are milking the system.

I had an interview today, the 2nd one with these guys, but taking this job would almost make me have to change everything in my life, it doesn't feel worth it. Before the first interview I told them my range, and then after the 2nd interview the offer like 5k less than my minimum on my range. Not to mention they want the first 90 days to be 1099 and if they decide to just let me go, I won't get unemployment. Just don't have a good feeling about it.

One problem with 1099 is you get paid when they feel like paying the bills. A lot of companies do pay their bills on time, but I was 1099 in 2002 and the cheap ass company I was working for would pay their bills like 90 days behind, so I had to go nearly 90 days before I got my first check after theatening to stop helping the deployment. If you do have to 1099, they need to be paying you a lot more per hour to cover the loss of benefits and such. IMO, they should pay you at least 20% more on 1099 then they would pay you as full time.

Yeah, and they aren't (paying more).

I'm leaning toward no on this, even though I need a job, I think this would set a bad "personal" precedent in my life.

My wife said pass, and my close friend who's also in the field said to pass too.

I'm back to square one now, oh well.

    • We agree here dawg. I'd love for Bryce to succeed as would all huddlers. I have not seen a single huddler hate Bryce for anything other than his play on the field / potential / skillset. He hasn't gotten any of the irrational hate having nothing to do with football that Cam got. And yeah I understood going into this season with Bryce again as there weren't a ton of options, but man we missed the fuging mark on upgrading at backup QB with someone who could actually push Bryce. Bryce had zero pressure on him with a 100% washed up Dalton being the only other NFL caliber QB in the system. That absolutely needs to change this offseason. Ideally with an actual starter upgrade but that seems extremely unlikely due to not having many FA options and a bad draft. But at the very least with someone like you mentioned, young/upside and/or day 3 pick in the draft.   Another note, we have a top paid and top performing OL, great young talent at WR incl. likely OROY, great RB group, average all around TE group, offensive coach with creativity in the system and good play designs (poor situational playcalling but still I put out current offensive coaching staff over Shula who held Cam back for instance). Not the absolute best situation for a QB to be in, but still a very good situation around him. And yet we have a bottom 8 offense (6th lowest points scored). Imagine taking a victory lap for a QB leading his team to the 6th lowest points scored in the league and the 22nd highest passer rating (despite being asked to do less than many other QBs; i.e. Bo Nix who isn't great either and has a slightly lower passer rating but Sean Payton actually lets him try to throw the ball deep and has him throw significantly more than Bryce). Crazy
    • similar to Atlanta and the NHL.  Atlanta has lost two NHL teams (and lost a minor leaguer).  Now there's another coalition pulling together another proposal for Atlanta to get an NHL expansion. While I'd like hockey to be back in Atlanta 'cause hockey is fun, I am skeptical that it'll happen based on previous teams' experience here alternatively: similar to Atlanta hosting a Major Tennis Tournament in advance of the US Open every mid/late summer.  Aside from the fact that Atlanta is said to be the country's largest Tennis playing city (with both USTA and ALTA, along with a number of side leagues) - playing tennis outdoors in Atlanta summer is miserable *and* they had difficulty attracting players... ticket sales were not good. So the Atlanta Open closed after 14 years.  They just couldn't make it happen, even if for all intents it appears to be massive tennis interest in the surrounding area.
    • So I saw where Luke was doing that show parallel to the game. Whatever it was, statcast something something, knew it would be a good watch. I don’t get ESPN any more but that would be one of the about few things I would watch outside of games.     He doesn’t fool around on the radio broadcast.
