Anyone Still Want to Defend Clausen?

Once the ball is in his hands on any play that isn't a run, our offense completely dies. He doesn't read blitzes, doesn't know who's coming, who is his hot read... He makes the most throwaways I have ever seen from any QB EVER on a game-by-game basis. He has no "escapability" under pressure.

I have no problem with accepting this team sucks, but I can't continue watching this guy. There is NO possible way he is our "best chance to win."

St. Pierre was better.

I really hope they just give Armanti some snaps and let Null play. This guy doesn't belong on an NFL field.

Clausens favorite play is either throwing to ball to someone at the LOS or the throw away pass thay goes to whoever is standing on the sidelines..

I swear he has thrown more completions to the guy holding the orange down marker than to our wideouts.

I was not exaggerating, I literally have never seen a QB throw it away this much. Even David Carr didn't throw it away like that his rookie year, and his OL was quite possibly the worst EVER in the NFL.

I'm almost hoping he just suffers a Pike-like season ending injury.

    • I'm looking at the schedule and I see a 10+win season easy.  I think Carolina goes undefeated in the division.  I also believe that the Bears, Bengals, Lions, Browns, Steelers are very winnable.  Revenge game with phillips and the eagles could be a win.  Honestly only 2 games I see as chalking up a L to off the bat is the Seahawks and Broncos.
    • I guess so. Don't think I was involved with previous discussions.  Tepper is one of the newest owners in the NFL. Dan is going into his 3rd season as a GM - ever. Dave is going into his 3rd season as a HC - ever. Before becoming a HC, he was an OC/playcaller for one season total. Idzik is about to go into his 1st year as a play caller - ever. WRs are rookies, sophomores and 3rd year guys - though the experienced 3rd year guys are XL and Coker (who has missed a ton of games). TEs are guys going into their 2nd and 3rd seasons, and Tommy Tremble - though Sanders has missed a ton of games. QB has played 3 years. Chuba is an experienced RB, but Brooks and Etienne have taken very little snaps at the position. O-line is more experienced vets with some talent - which is HUGE. Need them to stay healthy. I mean the offense is very young in every aspect except O-line. You see it differently?
