Back Pain Question

sounds like you need to go see a massage therapist more than anything.. especially with the knots and sitting for long periods of time. is it more of a numbing pain?

buy a few 1 hr sessions and see if you feel any better..

of course, a doctor wouldn't hurt.. but I have a feeling he's only going to recommend the same thing.

Edit: you should be able to buy a bundle pack.. perhaps 3 visits somewhere around $180? maybe less if you look around.. I don't know if that's too expensive.. I've had these issues, and it was the only thing that worked for me..

matter of fact, my dad had back surgery and a MT was his best route to fixing him if he ever had any issues.. (which he did, often.. surgery isn't a cure all.)

Think Im gonna go get one after work tomorrow, I jsut havent been able to do it this week because I have been so busy.

I definitely asked for one from Santa, so lets hope I get one for Christmas as well, I just can't wait that long to get rid of this pain.

The only thing about massage therapists is that I am so small, sometimes they will tell me that they don't want to bust out the knots b/c they are afraid they will hurt me. Pretty sure I have a very high tolerance for pain.

well, let them dig into you a bit and see how you do.. it will be painful, but if you can get through it, you'll reap the benefits.. just give them a safe-word.. ;)

disagree with bleys...which doesn't happen often!

massage is a bandaid...won't fix the problem!

it could be, everyone has their opinion.. my dad had back surgery and often had issues afterwards.. his only fix was going to a MT..

but everyone is different.. it's just my opinion..

I'm not sure what a doctor will do for knots in her back other than refer her to someone who will get them worked on.. (then again, I'm no doctor..)

I'm guessing these knots have occurred from sitting for long periods of time.. a MT job is to work those knots, and relax the muscles.. the knots may come back, but no one is going to permanently cure the tightening of muscles..

if the MT is any good, she is going to recommend stretches to do in the AM and PM.. that is where any real preventative maintenance will come..

Back surgery is the laaaaaast resort. It's something I'd only consider if all else failed.

yeah, no doubt..

by no means would I assume she needs it, I seriously think visits to the MT is the best option.. was just using my father's example to explain how useful they are..

    • I mean I think its a bit disingenuous to call basically anyone here a casual fan. I don't think the casual fan creates a profile then logs into it, in the offseason, to comments on mundane offseason topics.. I dont think anyone on here would be considered a casual fan. That said, I get your point. My POV is from the player. They sign this contract, move their family because of these contracts. When Clowney came him, we basically had a coming home party for him.  So yeah, I get why we did it and I know that ultimately the owner doesnt 'save' money, but I can feel for the human side of the player, which is why I want them to get all they can while they can.
    • My guess is the NBA will either send Flagg back “home” to the Northeast in Brooklyn or Washington, or San Antonio so that they can keep building around Wemby. If I was a betting man I would take the odds on the Spurs. This definitely feels like a #1 pick that they will rig.
    • In fairness, she is ensuring she is talked about.  People really aren’t going out there way to bring her up.  It’s some weird poo.  She would end up getting talked about given her actions if she was 40. Bill realizing some of these high end “companions” got a game of their own.  That’s what I don’t think Bill saw coming.
