My Tweet to Jimmy Clausen sums up the rest of the season..

Awesomeness!!

I disagree. I have a total man-crush on Luck too, but if we can find a way to beat the Steelers or the Falcons, I'll be happy with the team finishing strong. I'd love to be the reason Atlanta loses out on home-field.

yeah cause meaningless W's that nobody will care about the next day > Franchise QB for the next decade.

I knew Jimmy Clausen was going to be poo when we drafted him. I have it on tape! Me, 4 months ago saying this guy was a scrub. I knew what I was talking about. Its checkdown city when he is behind center. He sucks. Simple as that. Career backup. Charlie Batch 2.0. No, I'm sorry, that is a slap in the face to Charlie Batch. Hmmm lets see. Joey Harrington 2.0.

He is guaranteed to be an upgrade from Clausen.

You should go tell him that on his twitter page. Because the true sign that you have a really solid basis in reality is chasing down an athlete that you hate online and leaving him bitter messages implying that you want somebody to take his job. Real top shelf kind of social skills on exhibition there.

I couldn't give two licks about what people say here, because it's just here and it stays here. But when you chase down a professional athlete that wants to share his experience and thank the fans for support and trash him, that is just poor form to me.

There is just so much hate in the world. So many haters.

Yes....because I care about your opinion.

God you people get annoying. If he sucks, he sucks. Its not my fault. If he didn't suck, I would give him the praise he deserved. But I guess anyone that utters a bad word about a below average QB is a "hater" nowadays...oh well..

    • No, you're right. It doesn't mean you can't call out his flaws and poor play. But it also doesn't mean you can't admit when he plays well and shows improvement. Not you personally, just in general I mean.
    • I will say, I do think there's a version of Bryce that could be really successful as a high-volume passer in a spread-based offense built around quick throws and timing-based intermediate throws with deeper throws schemed up around them. I actually think the power run based offense we're running is a poor fit for Bryce as it requires him to play under center far more often. It's a very traditional offensive approach whereas I think a scheme that spreads defenses out and lets Bryce distribute the ball quickly with anticipation and accuracy is the sweet spot for him. The key, of course, is to find a way to run the ball efficiently out of those formations. Our personnel right now (backs and OL) aren't good fits for that style of offense and I'm not sure it's a scheme Dave Canales favors very much either.
    • I root for him, and I hope for the best, as does essentially everyone. But that doesn’t mean you can’t call out flaws and bad plays. And that’s what a lot of people get wrong.  I hope I’m wrong and that he continues to improve a lot, I just doubt it. But I’ve been wrong before
