Yeah, but I don't think Harbaugh's basing any NFL move on that solely alone - it would be sad if he did. Besides, it's not as if Luck's his only QB success, he got Josh Johnson in the league.

Wasn't looking at it that way. Just thinking that even if we didn't get Harbaugh, we could still get Luck.

Singletary has great passion for the game, but he just seemed to inexperienced as a HC at times.

From the Jimmy Raye gaff to the QB shuffle. They never made half time adjustments and ever seem to have a game plan from week to week. They went out there and just tried to play "Their" game each week and they failed.

Great players rarely make great coaches.

Yup, Different Skill Set Required.

I was all in with Singletary when he was named HC, I thought his passion for the game would be passed down to his players and IMO it was to some extent but a HC also has to know the X's & O's and make good staffing decisions and that was something Singletary is/was clearly lacking.

If it doesn't work out in SF I hope he gets another HC job some day, but I think he needs to spend a couple years as a D-Coor, he definitely isn't ready to be a HC.

    • The aversion to tying up too much money in the ground game around when it’s what’s winning us games is crazy to me. I get letting Rico walk if you think he’s easily replaceable but I don’t see many people arguing that, just applying an arbitrary salary cap based on what we think RBs are currently worth. I’d rather be stuck with Hubbard as an overpaid backup (not the worst one to have, mind you) than lose out on the most productive player on the offense personally.
    • Why do people keep saying things like “it’s not Young’s fault we spent so much to draft him”? Who cares if it’s his fault?  Nobody is saying send him to jail or anything.  People aren’t talking about blame for the decision to draft him, they’re talking about how bad he is as a QB and how we’d be much better with even an average QB.  Pointing out that we sunk a lot of resources into drafting him isn’t invalidated because he didn’t make that decision himself. Doesn’t matter whose fault that was, he’s still not playing like a QB who was drafted at all, much less one that cost two firsts, two seconds and a #1 WR.
