"If you have veteran players here, we have a history with coaching staffs that are going to play the veteran players." -Jerry Richardson

This further cements our "theories" of how Fox and Co. never did like to play the rookies over the vets which in my opinion probably stalled the development of a few of our players. I liked how Jerry took over and made that happen but he may have did it to the extreme. Yes, young people need experience but if there is no one to mold them or give them that insight on things, how are they to fully develop. Hopefully with a new coaching staff, we find that balance of letting the younger people play along with the vets. If a young person outplays a vet, let them took over the starting role and vice versus. I know I will probably get laughed at but I wonder is that why players like Jarrett never seen the field really ( or I know it could have been Jarret's part too, who knows). Let's say we get Luck or keep Clausen, we need to build the team around our QB which means a mixture of vets and young players.

Some of the Players that never got the playing time they deserved include

Charles Johnson, Fox always had Peppers and Brayton ahead of him

James Anderson, Finally got some playing time after we cut Diggs

Dwayne Jarrett, sure people can say he was a bust but Fox never gave him enough playing time. When he was on the field he played well and caught almost every pass thrown at him. Maybe if Fox would have gave him more playing time he wouldn't of been depressed and got that DWI?

Gary Barnidge- He has great size and speed but we have two vets at his position and we all know how Fox loves his Vets. I would like to see how a new coaching staff handles this kid.

Notable players include

DeAngelo Williams- Foster would probably still be starting over Williams but luckily our front office cut him forcing Fox to start Williams

Matt Moore- Once again our front office intervened and stopped Fox from starting an over aged Vet over a promising QB. Unfortunately Fox was still the coach and benched MM after two horrible games.

Fox hatred for Moore was obvious I mean look at what kind of season Matt Cassel had this year and he had a horrible first two games. Who knows how our season would have played out if Matt wasn't taken out after two games.

This is only the players that have played this year. Fox has ruined many other young careers in Carolina thanks to his stubborn ways. Thanks Fox!

    • Sometimes its fun to read the threads/posts.  The panthers could literally hire a groundskeeper and we'd have a thread "improving the field for no other reason to prop up Bryce Young".  Apparently no move is ever done to actually make the team better.  All a conspiracy to just focus on Bryce Young. Or suddenly daydreaming and reminiscing about Sam Darnold when he was hated more than Bryce Young.  Its really fun to do a message board search about Darnold during that time period.   Or thinking there is just a tree that grows QB, and you can just easily go up and pluck one.
    • Yeah okay. We as an organization have been more patient with him than many. And there has been a small parade of guys drafted since he was, also to bad teams, that have passed him. Some have lapped him. As a fan I am out of patience but he gets this year it is out of my hands always has been. I just hope the bar is higher than it has been for him.    FWIW, XL dropped two passes last year. He did do some other bad stuff, just saying.
    • Except it takes those QB's a few years to develop because they needed to learn the mental side of the game and have it catch up to their physical attributes. Bryce was supposed to be a QB savant who already had a fully developed mental side of the game and that was going to make up for his lack of physical ability.  And his lack of NFL level QB physical traits has been clear as day to anyone who has watched him the last 3 years, mainly, he just doesn't have an NFL arm, he can't zip the ball into tight spaces or throw on a line down the field like is needed at this level.
