It pains me to say this b/c I am a Falcons fan (also a panthers fan b/c i own a home in Charlotte)..but the best scenario would be to hire Falcons OC Mike Mularkey. You would have an offensive minded coach who could mold Cam Newton (who i pray the Panthers draft!!!) into what he helped create in Matt Ryan. Not to mention you would have a coach that knows EVERYTHING about a division rival (falcons) and is familiar w/ the division as a whole!

I'm sorry, I know I'm new here and everything, but this is the dumbest poo I've ever had the privilege of reading.

This is what I see happening, and in this order

1. Luck and Harbaugh meet privately to give each other a heads up of their plans.

2. Harbaugh gets picked up. (Probably San Fran)

3. Luck declares for the draft

4. We sign our coach. (Probably Cowher)

:D This is known info. I was trying to bring earth shattering info to the board.

Ok, I will let you all know some insider info that leaked from The Huddle. Zod is going to do a drawing. All active members name will be put into a bucket and the lucky winner gets to join Luck and Harbaugh in this meeting that you were talking about.

Cowher is not coming here, should be pretty damn obvious by now.

Why is that? Do you think he is going back to CBS? All his "preferred choices" are all but taken. It may be now or never for the chin to get a job back in the NFL. I still think he is coming here. It all goes back to hearing what Harbaugh and Luck decide to do.

How is it dumb to attain a Coordinator as a head coach who has been in the NFL for a number of years, and has helped lead an organization from a 4-12 record to 3 winning seasons and 2 playoff births in 3 years (to include a 13-3 season consisting of wins over the Aints, Bucs, Ravens, Packers; not to mention #1 seed in NFC) ?????!!!! Not to mention you want to draft a QB, don't you think an Offensive-minded head coach would help mold that young QB?! Please explain your insane notion that this would be stupid...

And if you're referring to my desire to draft Cam Newton over Andrew Leaf, I submit this to you...Look at the teams Joey harrington jr has faced. Look at how he struggled against Oregon....lemme say that again...OREGON...not some defensive powerhouse!! 2nd half stats in that game for Andrew Leaf...0 TDS 2 INTS, BALL GAME LOST!!!! Now take a look at what Cameron Newton has done against ELITE DEFENSES like LSU, Alabama, South Carolina...CMON!! Oh and please dont bring up what Luck did to a defense that couldnt stop James Madison (VA tech)!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Really? You don't see why a team can't draft a QB in the 1st round while then starting their former #1 overall pick over them while on the last year of their deal? It puts the team in a TERRIBLE place no matter how the season goes.  If Bryce sucks, you have to answer questions as to why he was still on the team to begin with, let alone starting over the rookie.  If he's good, then you run into the situation the Vikings were in last offseason with sticking with the rookie contract or the the guy who just performed instead of said young QB. It's one thing when teams keep a vet around as a bridge QB, it's something entirely different when that QB is still only in their mid 20's and was taken #1 overall by that team.   That just doesn't happen and not sure it ever has in NFL history before.
    • What is the alternative? - BY, will not play for less then his perceived contract (just like Cam Newton did). So you pay him top of market as befitting a 1st round, Heisman winning, playing birthing QB would get. Or you cut him. - Then we are forced to either sign a stop gap QB / previously failed QB and try to fix him or you spend a 1st round pick and draft a guy, basically resetting the team.  The reality is that we all want a top 5 QB. The problem is there are only 5 of those guys in the world and drafting, even #1 overall doesn't guarantee that.  The other problem is the NFL market. Young QB get paid. Even an average, young QB gets top of market deals. I know a lot of people here think we could sign him to an 'average QB contract' but thats not reality. Didnt happen with Cam wont happen with BY.  So we could let this season flush out and he is again a middling QB. But then we cut and restart or accept it is what it is (including compensation) and build a team around what we have.  My money is on the latter.
