My first Mock Draft..

SorthNarolina

Recommended Posts

Major needs:

QB

DT x 3

Needs:

CB

WR

OG

OT

TE possibly with a new coach and all.

Free Agents

Resign: D. Williams, C. Johnson, Kalil, Davis, Anderson, King, Rosario, J. Williams

The franchise tag is really not friendly for this FA class. Johnson isn't worth that much, Williams won't like the lack of security, Kalil is a Center, and Davis is coming off of two ACL tears. Tricky tricky.

Let Go: Moore, Marshall, Hayden, E. Johnson

Bring In: Matt Hasselbeck, Carl Nicks, Barry Coefeild, Kevin Boss, Santana Moss,

Trade(personnel): Steve Smith + 4th rounder for Jets 2nd rounder.

Trade(picks): Carolina 1st for Washington 1st, 2nd and 4th.

So after Free Agency

Major needs:

DT x 2

Needs:

QB

CB

WR

The Draft - getting a little tired so only prospect I'll go by name will be Amukamara.

Washington 1st - Prince Amukamara CB

Washington 2nd - DT

Jets 2nd - OT

Our 3rd 3rd - DT

Our 3rd Comp - DT

Washington 4th - WR

5th - OT

6th - DE

We leave still with questions at QB and WR.

Well that's it. Crazy ass trades but those are the most fun. This is just for fun and to spark discussion. I don't want to hear any "omg retarded blah blah blah". If I'm going to take time to make a mock draft it better be interesting.

I wouldnt mind that...I have a 7 round mock but its from a few different 7 round mocks getting a general feeling of where ppl think guys will go, but some things I would do.

Resign: Williams, Kalil, Davis, Marshall, CJohnson, Anderson, Rosario, EJohnson and Hayden(last two for depth)

Trade: no one. I know Smith might want out, but sell the fact to him we will draft AJ Green first overall and will become more of a balanced offensive team.

Sign : Vince Young - not a big fan but is a better option than Jimmy at this point and is the best option out there IMO at the QB spot.

Draft:

1st - AJ Green, WR, Georgia

3rd - Jarvis Jenkins, DT, Clemson

3rd(compensation for Peppers) - Marvin Austin, DT, UNC

4th - Marcus Gilchrist, CB, Clemson

5th - Dwayne Harris, WR/KR, ECU

6th - Stocker, TE, Tennessee

7th - Tyrod Taylor, QB, VT

You gotta be crazy if you think Taylor is going in the last round. There is a good chance he is gone before the fourth.

Good scheme though, all the peices are there, except for our offensive line which is gonna make or break this year.

We need to move on from the fabulously mediocre duo of King and Rosario. JMO.

Nicks is slated to be a RFA, almost zero chance you could get him unless you trade for him.

Smitty won't net you a 3rd (basically what you proposed). Probably a 5th, 4th at best.

Skins aren't giving that much to trade up without Luck on the board.

For people saying Marvin Austin, he's going to be a bust, pick someone else. Trust me on this.

    • I agree, but I've already said that the players will definitely take more money up front because it's more security. But they want more guaranteed money and NFL FOs don't want to do that for several and various reasons, and that's what's at issue.  https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-second-round-rookies-finally-starting-to-sign-what-took-so-long-and-what-it-means-for-future-contracts/ It's a tug of war between teams and players, and, sure, paying a player a signing bonus may satisfy them, especially if--and sometimes "only if"--it ultimately leads to a guarantee of more of their contract, but the teams are on the hook for all of those guarantees when cap time comes, so if they guarantee more money, they're ultimately losing the contract game.
    • TBH, these are the kind of players that get weeded out of professional sports pretty quickly. Also, CMC is not that guy. There is zero indication that he isn't competitive.
    • I like the free agency. It actually helps basically all schools across the board. Pretty much only ancient HC's and/or HC's that haven't been able to adjust have been complaining about the free agency. Your fortunes can be made or broken every offseason. It's not like before where a bad recruiting class or two meant multiyear purgatory.  I will never understand all the bellyaching about the NIL. If you want to talk about what ruined college athletics, it has been naked greed. Conference expansions for TV revenue, ever skyrocketing AD and facilities costs and now the attempts to permanently ruin the postseasons(football and basketball).  All the kids did was get a very well deserved piece of a very, very, VERY broken pie.
