Game tape means way more than a workout in underwear, Hurney knows this.

We also have Don Gregory on our side.

Yeah that the big thing. Gregory is pretty good at scouting them. I have no worry with that. I just want Another GM to get high on Green and make a crazy offer for the first pick.

I've said this before but here goes again. Cam Newton = Armanti Edwards, we dont need 2 of the same player

Cam is 6'6 250. Armanti is 5'11 187. Cam is playing in the national championship against Oregon. Armanti played in the subdivision championship against Delaware and UMass. You fail.

Armanti Edwards beat Joe Flacco's team when they beat Delaware so I wouldn't take much for that comparison. Cam Newton is light years better than Edwards. Newton is a unique talent who can MAKE PLAYS. In the NFL that is very valuable. He is not a project for the NFL because he can come to a team and can make plays immediately.

NCAA record for QB efficiency. I will say again...NCAA record.

So because he set a record, you would draft him... on just that... so with that said, so even if Luck was still in the draft, you would take Newton... Luck didn't do it, therefore Newton must be better... because records mean everything... then I guess you would like to still have Eric Shelton because he set a few records while in Louisville

Why all the hype on Newton; could it be that he is just playing at a higher level right now in the college ranks? But would be quite different once he gets to the Pro's where people can actually tackle... kinda reminds me of the hype on Reggie Bush; was just too fast for the likes of the college level, but got to the Pros and wasn't out running many people... talent was on an even playing field...

    • Ravens mixing it up with a random Mark Andrew tush push last year isn't a similar situation.  Lamar has run QB sneaks his entire career.  And often instead of a traditional sneak will even employ a 4th and 1 direct snap to Lamar simply because of how athletic he is (which even Cam did a lot of) and let him pick his own holes.
    • height being an issue doesn't just mean batted balls.  You could argue Bryce minimizes batted balls by adopting other poor habits such as his jump passing and leaving the pocket.   As I said, there are plays you can point to where he clearly was blind to parts of the field/players....which kills plays and opportunity. Which actually means some of the shorter/hot throws when things break down are where his vision gets blocked (and he had below average production all around the line of scrimmage).   has he figured it out? I mean, he improved off a trainwreck start.  But Bryce Young since arriving in the league (even while figuring it out)......doesn't generate much offensive production vs his peers.  I just think his ceiling is low.   And that's not in the grand scheme what you want in the NFL.  I think he can develop into a serviceable QB, that will largely always been a middle of the pack or low end starter.
    • People make a lot of noise about his footwork and I think it is overblown. Whether he takes 3 steps backwards or 5 small steps doesn't matter as long as he ends up at the right depth and is in sync with  the receiver regarding timing. If he does that consistently who cares as long as he has a firm stable base as he delivers the ball. Which he does need to work on. However even that is somewhat overblown given that often QBs have to throw off balance or from different arm angles to fit the ball around defenders. He is considered very accurate so apparently it isn't hurting him that much.
