Didnt anyone ever teach you about driving behind another car?

I can't stand assholes who don't understand the concept of a passing lane.

True story:

Last Saturday I'm driving back to the city after visiting family near Thomasville. I have my cruise-control set at 77 in a section of I-85 that's 70mph. I come up on this souped up Chrysler Sebring (embarassing, huh?) going <70mph in the left-most lane. A. this pissed me off because if you're not passing anyone, get the fug outta the left hand lane. And B. because he had plenty of room to get over, and didn't which forced me to come off of my cruise control. So what do I do? I flashed my lights at him. He then SLAMS on the brakes which causes me to slam on the brakes while I have another 3 or 4 cars behind me. We were doing less than 50 in the left hand lane. Speed limit is still 70, mind you.

Turns out, a car one or two back from me is his buddy. He calls his buddy, and by this time I've gone into the right hand lane and this jerkoff has gone into the right hand lane right in front of me. Anywho, his buddy comes up right beside me so as to block me in on the left hand side. Fine, it's 3 lanes at this point, so I go to the right-most lane. Car in front of me (the Sebring) merges over as I do. And his buddy now gets in the middle lane. They're blocking me in. We're going 10 under the speed limit. This went on for a good 30 miles until right before Concord Mills. I was honestly getting nervous because of how they kept blocking every attempt I made at passing and would periodically slow down so much that it was frightening.

True story: Same thing happened to me and so I pressed my button in my car that turns it into a helicopter and flew away, as I shot my turret gun out the side of it. The rest of traffic stopped, got out of their cars and gave me a slow clap as I flew into the sunset.

Nothing really bothers me on the road except a couple things which drives me insane is people not getting into their appropriate lanes until right when they need to turn or exit. People switch at the last minute, they can never just be in the lane they need to be ahead of time, despite the signs that tell them where they need to be. Then becasue I am in the right lane and the idiots ahead of me let people in I am stuck becasue idiots want to cut in instead of wait in the lane. Sometimes there isn't even a line and people still get into their lane at the last second to turn. So fuging annoying. I will run them off the road before letting the swerve in front of me, risking my safety.

Another is, if there is no traffic, an exit to the highway is built so you can SPEED UP and when you hit the highway you can merge successfully instead of going 30 miles below everyone and cause a wreck. Speed up on the exit people and let off the gas when you're coming off one, most the time there is NO REASON to break on a fuging exit ramp, just stop accelerating but for the love of god stop trying to merge on 485 going 50, becasue if I am behind you that means I have to merge at 50 and that is asking for a fuging wreck.

Actually, it's more like 2 seconds at that speed instead of 2 car lengths.

and you should add 1 second for bad weather rain snow black ice...

Problem with following the 3 second rule when behind someone is that people nowadays see it as an invitation to move in between you and the other car.

so, it's not a race.

Drives everyday in traffic on I-40 and after a while you realize that in order to survive you must drive like an a-hole. Instead of the 3 second rule, you do more of a 2 second rule while paying close attention to everything ahead so you can adjust. If there's a bonehead that's zipping in and out of traffic coming up behind you running 10mph faster that everyone that's already driving 8-10 mph over the speed limit, you can be damned sure I'm going make sure he's not moving between me and the car in front of me because I'd rather keep him out of my lane period.

Worst times of year to drive in traffic around Durham/Raleigh is during the state fair. People from all areas of the state coming in and not understanding how to drive fast in heavy traffic.

The problem is that most people are total assholes on the roads and lose all manner of civility and act like they are the only ones in the world.

Left hand lane driving and non-use of turn signals royally pisses me off.

this.

and no waving after I let ur ass in

OK why didnt you get in the right hand lane the first time to pass him?

Because generally, I'd say most people are good about getting over. Especially if there's room to. I kind of hoped he'd realize he was driving like a prick and get over. Wasn't to be. So, I flashed my lights.

QFT. I regret letting people in if they don't wave at me

    • Nobody on the huddle is saying we have an elite group offensively across the board. They aren't great. They're young. If you are expecting someone to agree with your position of blaming everyone around Bryce Young nearly three full seasons into his career you are going to be left holding the bag save for a handful of people who act like they are paid to defend his honor. Bryce Young is not a guy who has had to claw and fight his way into starting jobs in football. He's had the best to work with and been gifted roles since he was a teenager. The Panthers have one of the youngest rosters in the league and with us needing an infusion of young defensive talent in the upcoming draft we're only going to get younger. We need a QB who possesses the ability to elevate those around him. If you can't agree with me on that then there's nothing further to discuss.
    • All Bryce and the Panthers had to do was split with the Saints and a rookie QB. The bar was so low. They even had a whole bye week to prepare. The time for singing kumbaya was before that game. Anyone still talking about Bryce earning a second contract 43 games into his career is living a fantasy. He might get one from the Tepper owned Panthers but he's damn sure not earned it.
